When Lee Lucas posted a collaborative version of this song before Christmas https://soundcloud.com/lee-lucas/lee-lucas-mark-j-bennett-the-parting-glass, he suggested that I put out an open invitation for anyone to collaborate with the original stem. Of course, I appreciate that grafting any type of arrangement on to an acapella vocal track isn't easy but I'd welcome any approach. This is an Irish traditional song but it may well withstand a modern arrangement. The vocal stem has lots of reverb and echo on it but should you need a drier stem to work with, just message me and I can send a naked version. Also feel free to take some liberties with this should it lend itself in any other treatment. 

I raise my glass to those brave enough to listen to me tightrope-walking and also to those who might consider taking on this challenge. Cheers!

I am very grateful to my dear soundcloud friend Stéphane aka DDJohn (https://soundcloud.com/ddjohn) for joining me on this track. This was initially intended to be a pure guitar-vocal song but, when playing it for myself, I could feel that something was missing. I called Stéphane on rescue to add some more Parisian flavor. As I was growing up, I had a love and fascination of all the great prog rock coming out of the UK. Gentle Giant was like no other group at the time, and I spent hours listening to their music, constantly amazed at the songwriting and musicianship, as well as their totally unique approach. I did my best to cover one of their tracks from the very first album I heard from their output, “The Power and the Glory”. I worked my way backwards through their catalog and to this day, consider this group as one of my true inspirations to try to do something a little different.
