She was just living her life
On an early morning day - in 1969
It could have gone like any other raid in a New York Burough
But on June 24, Marsha said “No.”
That day, they said “No.”

She said “No!” She fought back.
She didn’t bow before that police attack
She took a stand and stood her ground!
And there was so much more than just that one, iconic throw
Don’t forget, Marsha said “No.”
Injustice loomed, and she said “No.”

And that is just one small moment of standing up to a massive foe
But don’t forget: she said “No.”
