Our next Urban Cosmonaut personifies the essence of this podcast series. 
Peter Power's music is a multi-dimensional exploration of sounds that takes the reader on a voyage, to a ritual gathering in a sacred temple, where we find ourselves in the heart of the jungle on a remote planet, spiraling into percussive, vocal and atmospheric loops blended with music from around the world.

Peter Power is a medium. 
He saturates himself with input from the ambience of his environment, from the beating of his own and others' hearts. Channeling his inspirations into mixes that oscillate, vibrate, pulsate, girate, elongate - his own edits, remixes and productions reveal a celestial sound that is unique to him.
After emerging from a darker place these past few years, this mix is his attempt to reconnect with the warmer light of humanity. 

We asked Peter what his third eye means to him. His answer: it's the feedback between inner and outer self. We'll take that as an impulse and let him guide us to a sacred place inside ourselves and outside the constraints of the body self.

His message to the listener is simple: awake into life!

“...by maintaining the pensive state felt at the time of soft and steady exhalation and during passive retention after exhalation.” The sutra refers to a method of breath control which also relaxes the mind and keeps it from fluctuating.

For Tobi (and us, too), the most important element in music is always the rhythm. As we’re constantly inhaling and exhaling (pracchardana) through our lives, the rhythm reflects this principle of existance and so does the mix you are about to hear.

The Aztec is one of the few older civilizations that featured mandatory education at home and in schools. Every child was educated, no matter his or her social status, whether noble, commoner or slave.

All children were taught a large collection of sayings called the huehuetlatolli, which incorporated Aztec ideas and teachings. The Aztec culture expected well-behaved people so children were taught to be humble, obedient and hardworking. 

The huehuetlatolli included many sayings on all aspects of life, from welcoming newborn infants to the family to what to say at the death of a relative. Every few years, the children were called to the temple and tested on how much they had learned of this inherited cultural knowledge.

For the first 14 years of life, boys and girls were taught at home by their parents. After that, the boys attended either the noble school, called a calmecac, or the commoners’ school, the telpochcalli. Girls went to a separate school, where they learned household skills, religious rituals, singing and dancing or craftwork. Some talented girls were chosen to be midwives and received the full training of a healer. Other athletically talented girls might be sent to the house of dancing and singing for special training.

As we close the chapter of our first Wild as the Moon on Sunday July 9, 2017, we already started writing the first words of the next, because on August 4 the upcoming show awaits.. 

Each chapter in the Book of Babylon contains a story of endless love making through music and sound. Each chapter describes an undeniable energy that flows between DJ and crowd. 

This time the beginning of the chapter is ruled by two stars that created a mix for you.

The two stars of this show are the incredible musician Spaniol and rising star Kurup. They create tracks that took possession of our soul. Music that allows us to slowly sink into the mixture of sounds as we end up dancing in our own imagination.

Finally, we get to take our dreamworld into reality. 

On the 4th of August you can see them perform together and apart at the second edition of Wild as the Moon. Until that time you can take this moment to experience music like you have never experienced it before.

Originally from Turkey, this brilliant producer started out at a young age and made his way in music by playing a traditional long-necked lute known as a saz. It’s thanks to this early relationship with music that Islandman developed the technique and feeling needed to handle farfetched rhythms, sounds and chants inspired by the flowering cultures of the Mediterranean Basin and beyond to blend them with mastery in his tracks and mixes. This eclecticism and understanding of music has helped him put together a wide range of melodies and musical styles which extend from enchanting edits of traditional Bulgarian sounds to smooth balearic disco. His mix is exciting and mesmerising, catching the mind in a gentle twine of melodies and rhythms. His perfect balance of percussions and electronic beats shakes and ripples throughout the track, and lifts you with ecstatic vibes. The mix goes on in a beautifully arranged journey set by the pace of your own inner dance, as if the concept of time ceases to exist and it’s just you and the music. Below a brief Q&A with the man himself.
1.	How did you first get into music?
I stumbled into it by mistake to be honest, I had always set out to be an illustrator, so I was doing illustrations for a friend of mine who was a musician – and he taught me production in exchange for the illustrations. The final nail in the coffin was that during my university attachment, I worked at a record label and I fell in love with it from there.

2.	How do you usually approach mixes? Do you record your mixes live with CDJ/Traktor is it an Ableton or Logic session? 
I like to create mini stories in my mixes, so for example, I set a mood, and this is the story of a person traversing underground, he is following the voice of a siren, the deeper he goes, the deeper the music gets and more tribal it becomes as he reaches the underworld realm where his ancestors reside in. I do record my mixes live, with my controller through Traktor.

3.	Which people/artists have inspired your career? Any non-musical influences?

La Vintage & Groovy Low Tempo Mixtape #3

Born and raised in Alentejo, in a small town in the interior of Portugal, João a.k.a. BirdZzie (@birdzzie) is the musical producer and DJ who is living in Lisboa after almost a decade of immigration in Brasil. BirdZzie grew up immersed in a musical environment that included the radio, records and cassettes. Amateur radio broadcaster and selector from an early age, began his activities as a professional DJ in 2008, travelling between a huge miscellanea of musical styles, confirming his passion for the music itself and everything related to that; melody, rhythm, noise are the things that really move him.

Our 130th edition is a live recording from a special moment, it's BridZzie's returning to the city of Porto after 10 years of absence, where he had the opportunity to play with the amazing couple Ohxalá in their party 'Banho Maria'at Maus Hábitos, reuniting very old and great friends. Strongly influenced by the chants and rhythms of regional and traditional cultures, starting out nice and slow, and rising to intense levels, BirdZzie is capturing the audience on a trip through carefully selected sounds.
