When booked for 90 minute sets theres alot of pressure to rock the party hard and the guy before you is invariably playing so banging that theres often not much room to take it deep and dynamic. All Basses Covered (The Infamous South Beach Set, December 2012)

Enjoy this live recording of the Plump DJs (Grand Hotel Recordings) from the Space Cowboys' 13th annual Breakfast of Champions in San Francisco on New Year's Day. The Plumps were a surprise, unannounced addition to the line-up this year and to the delight of an unsuspecting crowd, they lit up the Funktion One stage as the sun was setting on yet another epic B.O.C. Plumps DJs are internationally renown UK DJ/Producer duo Andy Gardner and Lee Rous, whose passion for innovation and non-conformist attitude to electronic music has fuelled their fire for over a decade. Plump DJs RIPEcast - Live from Breakfast of Champions 2013

It's 2013 and we start our 25th Anniversary of Solid Steel. In hour 2 we step forward to 1990 and a legalised Kiss 100 FM with Solid Steel on a Friday night. House music has evolved and mutated and we hear a Coldcut Mastermix featuring C'hantel, Pink Noise, LFO and the first Ninja Tune release by Zen Bones. Coldcut keep it funky with Matata and Ju-Par Universal Orchestra, plus hard Latin from Dom Um Romao and the first spin from Major Force, before dropping another Mastermix.
We then move to Saturday night for the second half and tracks from Rebel MC and Demon Boyz pave the way for the Jungle scene. The next Mastermix features De La Soul, Prince, DJ Food and Maze and we finish with tracks touching on rave, IDM and breakbeat territory with The Black Dog, Doc Scott and DJ PC.

Solid Steel Radio Show 4/1/2013 Part 3 + 4 - Coldcut - Kiss 100 FM

Solid Steel in association with Serato (4th January) It's 2013 and we're celebrating 25 years of 'The Broadest Beats' on Solid Steel. But first we take a look at where it all began, before Solid Steel even started. 
On the pirate station Kiss FM in the mid to late eighties Matt Black and Jon More both had separate shows, we hear clips from both and then as they joined forces in 1988 prior to Kiss shutting down whilst applying for legal status at the end of the year.

To start with we scan the airwaves through various London Pirate Stations of the time, landing at Kiss 94 FM to hear Matt Black's  Mastermix Dance Party dropping exclusive Coldcut tracks for the first time and music from the emerging House scene. Jon More takes over with the Meltdown Party playing 'new' releases from The Beastie Boys, Eric B & Rakim and Adrian Sherwood plus the original version of 'The Only Way Is Up' that they later covered with Yazz and took to the top of the charts.

Then we hear them together for their last show on the Pirate Kiss 94 FM whilst waiting for a licence. Music comes from Kraftwerk plus a Todd Terry workout and, as they say goodbye, we hear a farewell from Kiss founder Gordon Mac and the announcement of a new commercial station for London...

Jump Shake Rattle & Roll is a night based in Birmingham. 
We bring together the friendliest partyheads,
to enjoy the finest underground party music.
Old skool meets nu skool, breaks beats & basslines.

We started in September 2004, when DJs El Carlos and Purplenoiz joined forces. Playing upstairs at the Patkav, Moseley, a local bar with an intimate dancefloor, perfect for a pre-club session.

In 2005 we moved down the road to 'Upstairs' at the Cross. There was a huge attic with a dancefloor, bar and chillout area complete with sofas and dimmed lighting.

We started 2006 in the famous Epic bar at Moseley's old bus depot. We then moved to Rooty Frooty at the Custard Factory. The cosy cafe became a club by night. With organic drinks and a dancefloor, it was perfect for Jumping & Shaking.

In 2007 we joined forces with Citricity to take over the whole of Moseley's old bus depot for a massive allniter.
