Following EOMAC’s debut album “Spectre” on Killekill, released earlier this year, here come remixes of the three most outstanding tracks of the album.
TOMMY FOUR SEVEN picked the title track SPECTRE, taking away some of the dense texture of the original, speeding it up a bit and adding some straight-forward percussion to turn the original into a big anthem for the mellow moments on the dancefloor.
Lars Stöwe aka Anstam is using his ANNO STAMM-alias to rip out the distorted bassline of the grimey SU RIDDIM and add some playful bassline variations and some serious 808 business to it to turn it into a peaktime banger with lots of chicago flavour.
AnD do what they do best and turn SHELL OF DARK into a half-tempo stomper that after a while breaks up to a devastating weapon of distorted drums and melodies.

Sintetizzatrice is the first recorded document of the collaboration between veteran DJ and producer Donato Dozzy and female vocalist Anna Caragnano. Through his solo work, and in his collaboration with Giuseppe Tilleci (Neel) as Voices from the Lake, Dozzy has achieved some of the most remarkable vistas contemporary electronic music has seen since the turn of this century. By removing himself from his areas of mastery to shift his focus on the voice, he has achieved a new peak with Sintetizzatrice. Over nine tracks, Dozzy works exclusively with the voice of Rome-based vocalist Anna Caragnano, with no other instruments. Heavy layering and effects processes are used to display an astoundingly versatile voice-centric vocabulary. Rarely can a record morph from R&B to kosmische, through traditional Italian folk music, to Fluxus styles and traditional chamber choir with no additional instrumentation. Just a singular, beautiful voice. The results are simply phenomenal. With the opening, "Introduzione," an immeasurable cosmic weight arrives and remains through the duration of the album. "Star Cloud" ascends with melancholy extended drones that evaporate concepts like time and being, rendering basic human perceptions void all the way through "Parallelo." "Parola" dances around the stereo field with dazing rhythms and melodies, while "Festa (A Mottola)" is an homage to the traditional music found in the rural region where, coincidentally, both Dozzy's mother and Caragnano were born and raised. The album's closing pieces "Love Without Sound" and "Conclusione" hit hard in a way to which no words can do justice. By fearlessly entering uncharted territories, Dozzy and Caragnano have made a collaboration which is truly experimental. Sintetizzatrice is a grand debut for Anna Caragnano and a fantastic twist for Donato Dozzy. Produced and mixed by Dozzy at Alaska Studio, Rome, in 2014. Mastered by Giuseppe Tilleci at EnissLab Studio, Rome. Transferred to tape by Pietro Micioni, Angelo Compagnoni, and Massimo Zuccaroli at Village Studio, Rome. It’s a pleasure to introduce a fresh artist on our own DEAD CERT. Records for this DT:Premiere. The EP titled Inner Awareness has been picking up support from Len Faki, Tommy Four Seven, DJ Rolando, Truncate, Alex.Do, Luigi Madonna and many more.

Making his debut with three stunning tracks is Berliner Caremajor. On the rise, he has releases on Ricardo Garduno’s Illegal Alien, Abstract Mechanisms and new material recently signed to Emmanuel’s ARTS label, he will be one to most definitely look out for.

“Concinnity” is at its heart a nice slice of melodic Techno, that does mislead with a haunting intro from some gothic sounding chords before the crunchy kick gets into full swing and the power is felt. Some nice cuts and breaks pave the way for some additional high notes as this excellently worked track will create an epic atmosphere for any DJ.

Samurai Horo starts 2016 with the second part of Pact Infernal's concept release 'The Descent'. Split into 2 sections, both releases are collectively themed around the infamous 'Inferno' section of Dante Alighieri's 'Divine Comedy' poem from the 14th century. 'Inferno' is an allegory telling of the journey of Dante through Hell, guided by the Roman poet Virgil In the poem, Hell is depicted as nine circles of suffering located within the Earth. Allegorically, the Divine Comedy represents the journey of the soul toward God, with the Inferno describing the recognition and rejection of sin. This dramatic setting is the perfect canvas for the music in 'The Descent' [Chapter II]. Subtle ghostly echoes hang ominously over the entire release. Cruelly menacing with a perfected subtle brood dominating the overall atmosphere, Pact Infernal use percussion and mutated chants to massage their driving rhythms. Preferring to stay anonymous has given Pact Infernal the ability to create an other worldly musical environment devoid of pre conceptions and human imagery attachments. Their sound has attracted people like Lucy from Stroboscopic Artefacts (who remixed The Descent Chapter I) and Samuel Kerridge. We predict many more converts to the Pact Infernal sound with the release of Chapter II into the world.

SCI+TEC welcome a new name to the label, but a very much established artist on the scene. Rumors, Get Physical, Saved and Akbal are just some of the labels to have released the music of Italian producer Lancaster, and his residency at Barcelona’s Macarena club, that now tops a decade, has lead to an unrivaled knowledge of how to exquisitely manipulate a dancefloor. 

This enviable skill for warming a room, building tension and atmosphere within the boundary of four walls, has transferred to Lancaster’s own productions. Intricate and precise, with minute and delicate movements, his music is perfect for those enduring and extended sets. 

His debut plunges us into the deep, as we go Diving With Sharks. Opener ‘More Music’ is a perfect, beatless intro that features the vocals of Mo Pink. Cymbals, synth and sirens, cascading and crashing in bombastic fashion. Quite the opposite is the deep, bubbling slink of the title track. Warm bass and fluid fx see the track flow, as a variety of vocal samples lap back and forth within the mix. The addition of stormy synth stabs however, keep us on our toes. 

Final track ‘Bubble’, is a sparse and spacey affair. The emptiness is filled with a solid kick-drum, echoing fx and a ticking clock. Which surely must be signalling the end of our debut with Lancaster. We can’t wait to have him back. 




TEC158 - 1 - LANCASTER - MORE MUSIC FEAT. MO PINK

Shadows aka AnD remerge after their unforgettable debut on Shifted's Avian imprint in 2012. The long awaited return finds its home on Leyla Records, in the form of four diverse yet cohesive experimental cuts that take the listener on a journey through the oppressive, the rhythmic, the funky and abrasive.

Fear Of The Imagination commences with a paranoid piece of intense, evolving noise and rhythmic splattering. A spellbinding sense of woozy psychedelia entrances the listener with deconstructed drums punctuating the piece. The improvisational feel to 'Leaves In The Wind' sets the precedence for the non-conformity that flows throughout the EP.

Track two, 'What If They Are Watching You' sits somewhere between Nine Inch Nails and The Sprawl, with rhythmic intensity greeting the listener immediately at 120 BPM. Masked and ominous vocals creep in and out as metallic sound design washes over the track.

Track three 'On A Mad Train' is possibly the groups most experimental piece to date. Droned out guitars and ascending synth lines create an progressive palette that maintains masterful musicality dowsed with menace.

The closer 'Lights Out' bursts with slapping synth lines and a distorted kick which acts as the frame for the bed of noise. An ideal closer for an EP that exudes originality on a label that continues to push the boundaries.

Hot on the heels of the A-Sides Volume 5 compilation, Enrico Sangiuliano makes his return to Drumcode with his highly anticipated EP ‘Moon Rocks’. The heavy hitting four track EP shines a light on Sangiuliano’s tight, thundering production skills. The hoover heavy lead track ‘Moon Rocks’ is packed with booming percussion, intricate synths and brooding crescendos. The EP encapsulates Sangiuliano’s wide spectrum of sounds ranging from the fat bass line of ‘Moon Rocks’ to the more delicate harmonies shown within the ‘Dutch Kiss’ mixes whilst ‘Ghettoblaster’ sits somewhere in between.
