It’s with great pleasure that we finally release the debut episode of our new Podcast series! We’ve been dreaming about launching our own Podcast series for quite some time now, so it’s exciting to finally have this new project off the ground! The Detour series will be our chance to share some of our favorite music with all of you – stuff that we don’t get to play in our normal DJ sets or mixtapes – but stuff that is really moving us nonetheless, and more often than not, the stuff that’s on constant repeat on our ipods! So….here it is. With no rules, no genre constraints, just good music to move your mind, body, and soul – Welcome to The Detour!

The tribute set I put together for my Thursday afternoon set at The Stump N Stone Stage. First half is a Pumpkin Tribute and the second half is a Jon H Tribute. This was a very challenging project and I am so excited to say that this is the one take, live recording of the set live at Tall Tree. Jon and Nick are two of my biggest influences in DJ'ing, not only for what they do behind turntables/controllers, but the way the present themselves in a daily manner. We miss and love you both so much. And extra props to Qdup, Everyman and Tuck In Tyler for helping facilitate lots of the music used in this mix and for providing vocal recordings that are used in the mix. Put your hearts up for Nick and Jon, you will always live on through your music!

Sunday Morning at Tall Tree 2017 I was asked to fill in on a set for an artist who couldn't make it, so I obviously said yes!!! Therefore this set was completely on the fly, and mannnnnnnn is it funky! I randomly came across this the other day on my computer and it turned out pretty dope! Hope ya dig it!

I recently had the pleasure of Dj'ing my friend Jay and Meg's wedding and was tasked with coming up with something that EVERYONE of all ages, shapes and sizes could connect to and get down to on the dance floor.  This was my attempt in doing just that.  An eclectic blend of retro funk, 80's rock and 90's hip/hop all rolled into one bass pumping package.  Hope you enjoy!

"I am so honored to be back at Shambhala's 2019 season at The Living Room Stage this year. I am playing two live EVeryman and Little Giants hip hop sets. One on Saturday and one Sunday. These will be primarily hip hop sets of my original tracks and me rapping live. I wanted to make this mix different. I wanted to make a mix of all my friends from Shambhala over the years and some of my new favorite tunes fused with old school hip hop classics. I chose to incorporate music that reminded me of all the good times I have had at Shambhala over the years. This mix was made with the memory of Jon Horvath of @FortKnoxFive and Nicholas Alvarado, A.K.A. @Pumpkin , both dear friends and DJ's who we lost too soon. These men both changed the way I hear and feel music. I would not be the DJ or performer I am today without their guidance and support. I would not be performing at Shambhala if Jon did not do bring me to meet Hoola when he lost his voice and could not get on the mic back in 2013. Jon handed me the mic and said, "Alright brother go Introduce Mark Farina right now." The rest is history. We all miss them both dearly, through the Funk Family worldwide Jon and Nick's funky souls live on. Thanks to Sara and Hoola for having me back to help host the Living Room Stage. This is a musical journey that has been created for my Dad as a Father's day gift.  Music is how I express my self and I wanted to put together what best represented where it all started. This is the music that I grew up on with my parents and that easily has the largest influence on my music career.  I'll always remember foot tapping to classic rock on the way to hockey when I was a kid. Cruising down the Deerfoot with the windows down on a sunny day.  My father is one of the nicest most humble men I know and the best father anyone could ask for. Thanks for everything Dad.  I hope you all enjoy this journey.

That’s how Juwee describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid of going from crazy party vibes to a chillout level, his musical selections are his own therapy.

Raised on sounds of the early 70s, hip-hop and reggae, he always tried to keep himself open to every kind of other music. After discovering Funk, Jazz and Soul, which as he sees it, is the major source of inspiration for most genres, the beat-bender started collecting records, making edits and finally ended up doing originals. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: bassline, hiphop, funk, chillout, drum & bass, house, trap…
Though he loves playing in nightclubs, festivals, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a producer and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically.

As a part of the Funkanomics he has been rocking parties all over the world and lighting up the main stages of Fusion Festival, Shambhala Festival, Natural Games Festival, No Stress Festival, Motion Notion, Zürich Openair and many more…


Plenty of hard work with his project Funkanomics got him release on several labels like Adapted Records, Fort Knox Recordings, Jalapeno Records, Bomb Strikes, Ghetto Funk, Rocstar Records, Manmade and many more.
