Sound design work for the Champalimaud Foundation Annual Symposium 2024. CF Symposium rotates annualy between Neuroscience and Cancer research. I was asked to create a sound identity to accompany the visual aspect of the event. Several sounds were created with the use of analogue synthesis equipment and virtual instruments and sequenced and processed in Ableton Live.

The several phases consisted of a Save the Date; a Launch; the Call for Abstracts; Meet the Experts; Call for Volunteers; an Abstracts Extension and finally the Registrations opening. The video animations were created by Champalimaud´s graphic designer Carla Emilie.

The sound concept followed the graphic design progressing over several months through the several stages of registration to the event. We introduced minimal elements of sound design which are now part of the CF Symposium 2024 theme song used on the opening session.

This year’s Champalimaud Research Symposium, Neuro-Cybernetics at Scale, will explore how behavior emerges through complex feedback loops across neural circuits, bodies, and varied environments. While reductionist approaches have brought deep insights into individual components, understanding behavior as it unfolds in the real world demands a shift toward systems-level thinking—across scales, disciplines, and modalities.

Petite Victory Collective Minimal City Vol. 4, The Amsterdam Edition,Is the fourth installment of Minimal City collective album, where artists embarked on a creative journey using a rich collection of samples and field recordings captured in Amsterdam by our labelmates Levi Mudhouse, Captain Ghostnote, and Neon Jams. These sounds, from the ambient murmur of cafés and restaurants to the subtle rhythms of city streets and lively human interactions, have been carefully infused into each track.

This project is designed not only to showcase innovative music, spanning minimal techno, ambient, experimental, DAWless, and electronic, but also to generate economic support for causes we believe in.

Daminal is my track included on this collective release.

I am a recording engineer, a sound designer and a field recorder, an electronic musician and audiovisual technician. I compose, record, mix and master. I work with electronic generated soundscapes using synthesizers and field recordings. 

As an engineer I focus on modern recording and mixing techniques, audio formats, analog, digital and web audio, A/D & D/A conversions, analogue tape restoration, storage, archival & digitization.

I provide audiovisual and multimedia support in the fields of science, education and culture. Here you can find some examples of my work in sound design, composition and field recording.
