The Du-Rites are a funk duo comprised of Jay Mumford and Pablo Martin. Pablo on guitar and bass guitar; Jay on drums and percussion. They split the keyboard/synthesizer duties. Individually, Pablo plays guitar with the legendary Tom Tom Club and spent years as a mastering engineer. Jay has worked as a drummer live and/or in studio for Danger Mouse, Adrian Quesada, Dan Auerbach, Binky Griptite(Daptone), Soul Supreme, Just Blaze, Lord Finesse and many others, as well as being sampled by Madlib ("Road of the Lonely Ones"), Mark Ronson and others. In addition to four studio albums, one live album, an EP and seven 7" singles under their own name, The Du-Rites have worked with a wide range of talents since their inception in 2016, including Eddie Palmieri, Robert Glasper and Ghostface Killah. They also scored a large portion of the original music for Bobbito Garcia's Rock Rubber 45s film.

junclassic (one word all small letters) began rhyming in the cafeteria and street corner ciphers in 1994. After learning the power of a good punchline and a forceful, abrasive delivery, jun began recording at a friend’s crib in 1997. After amassing dozens of songs, jun linked up with fellow emcee K-Sise (known as Ntrospekt back then) and formed the group Dynamix in 2000. Prior to the formation of the group, the two emcees along with a friend released a 12 inch called “F*ck Giuliani” on Clockwork Productions in 1999.

After ripping virtually every NYC Hip Hop showcase and performance space between 2000 and 2002 K-Sise and junclassic pressed up volume 1 of their Shock N Awe series. Volume 1 received 3 and a half stars in the popular street publication Music Notes. In 2004 jun and K released volume 2 of their Shock N Awe campaign.

junclassic started his own label Classified Recordings LLC in 2007 and completely produced and released his debut album 2 Much Ain’t Enuff on July 14, 2007 with “no features and no samples”. The album received a small amount of press but not nearly the kind that jun had hoped for. jun changed the game plan, getting his good friend l8sho to completely produce his 2nd album Overqualified. Released on October 21, 2008, Overqualified received press coverage in Entertainment Weekly Magazine, esteemed hood porn magazine Black Tail, Hip Hop Connection in the U.K., HipHopDx.com, Okayplayer.com, and a host of websites worldwide. The album was heralded as “beautifully bizarre” and widely praised for its creativity and uniqueness.

On January 20, 2009, junclassic released his 3rd album Late Nites and Early Mournings (dubbed as an EP at the time) for free digitally. The album was regarded as jun’s best work to date and praised for its candid lyrics and powerful production. jun followed up the release with his first mixtape Southside’s Savior on July 20, 2009. Presented by Dub MD, Southside’s Savior accrued over 13,000 downloads in less than two weeks. The work was praised by various websites as one of the best mixtapes of the year, featuring jacked beats from established and underground artists as well as several original productions.

Imaginary Enemies, junclassic’s 4th album, was released by Classified Recordings on October 8, 2009. Receiving 3 and half X’s by HipHopDx.com and 4 and a half crowns out of 6 by Juice Magazine in Germany, the album was again heralded as jun’s best work to date, exhibiting candid lyrics of pain and turmoil by jun and pounding drums and moving production by sole album producer Husky.

The year 2010 went by quietly with little musical output from junclassic, save the release of his second mixtape Mornings Was HashBrowns presented by DJ Tre Unda, HipHopGame.com, KevinNottingham.com, RockTheDub.com and of course Classified Recordings LLC. Officially leaving the Monsta Island Czars collective in November 2010 with homie K-Sise aka Monsta X, jun has focused his attention on various upcoming projects. jun completed his 5th album Better Than Fiction in late 2009 but has not yet released the project, stating that he “wants the project to be featured on vinyl due to its sound”. jun has also completed an EP with European production duo Jazz Spastiks, called Mode 7 and was released on HiPNOTT Records in July 2011 to critical acclaim, receiving 3 and a 1/2 X's on HipHopDx.com and 87 on Okayplayer.com. The single "Bust Ya Melon" reached #2 on two college radio charts. 

On Memorial Day 2011 jun dropped his 6th LP Better Than Fiction produced entirely by German producer Wunderkind for Free Download. The album received a decent amount of internet coverage and was deemed #2 of 2011 thus far by sardless.com in June right behind the Stones Throw Quakers release.

On September 11, 2012, jun released FIGURES, a mostly concept album produced entirely by Mr. Troy, a precocious MPC wielding producer from Paris, France. The album was released strictly through bandcamp.com, one of the the few junclassic releases that did not receive physical pressing. The album received major fanfare from European websites due to Mr. Troy's soulful yet frenetic futuristic boom bap and jun's large number of concepts (the album featured 9 concept songs out of 13 tracks).

Nearly a year later, jun released BLVD Backdrop On HiPNOTT Records on June 25, 2013.Produced entirely by DJ Bazooka Joe, the album was a tribute to the streets of NY and beyond, reppin' the hood without glorifying the illegalities that often end with mass incarceration of Black Latino youth. Half A year Later, On January 24, 2014, jun released his 9th album "Thinking Out Loud" on French Label http://blackmilkmusic.fr on CD and 12" Vinyl produced entirely by Mr. Troy.

jun is now prepping the release of his 10th album "Words Are Weapons", which will be available on green vinyl courtesy of German Label StereoBoom Records. The album will be produced entirely by Maniac, of the German group Demograffics.
