Okay so, The "Code:" brand pretty much started as a joke among my friends and I. Pretty much when one of us would choose to eat something unhealthy (fast food, deep fried stuff, etc) one of us would say something like "That better be codename for a Salad!" I then got the idea (with help) to name certain beats after different codes. It started with Code: S, the "s" meaning Salad. Then Code F, meaning Fat, Code: SB, meaning Sky Burrito, Code LT, meaning Land Taco and finally EX-F, meaning Extra Fat. It really is nothing but a dumb joke.

My current era. I thought that I was going to be done but my muse came back and hit me HARD. I'm going to just focus on making stuff that sounds cool to me. No more putting myself into boxes, no more feeling afraid that I'm stagnating, none of that!

At the end of the day, I don't make music to be known or acknowledged. I don't make it to become famous one day. I just do this because it's fun to me and is an important part of me, simple as that, lol.

Get ready for me to become a heck of a lot more experimental because the restrictions and limiters are gone! 

I've always made music off of my heart and instinct anyway, why try to change now?

I also may not be as active as I once was; I currently feel like I've made everything (and more!) that I wanted to make. I won't force myself to make things, I'll just let it happen when it happens and be okay if it doesn't.

Finally broke through my creative block (for now...)

I wanted to come back with something pretty simple but has that "K." feeling to it. I have a few more things that I'm working on but knowing me, it'll get abandoned due to creative block, lol

Also yes, the pad is literally the Windows 98 Start Up theme mixed with MonoPoly and SurgeXT. You know me, I love doing weird stuff like that, lol.

Chilly Days

What a name, huh? Yeah...I couldn't think of anything. Heck, I didn't even have a reason to make this, it was completely serendipitous, hence the name. My heart just wanted to make something intense, experimental, melodic yet slightly dissonant.  Regardless, hope you enjoy it!

Serendipitous Circumstances

I was able to get the creative juices flowing for one more beat for the year! This was honestly really fun to make, especially the break solo at around 1:57. I did a lot of experimentation with the sub bass in this one, trying to make things sound as dynamic as possible, especially because I knew that it would basically be one pattern going on throughout the entire track. Naming, of course, goes to Shaolinkingx as I'm awful at naming my own beats (looking at you "Serendiputious Circumstances"!)

Edit 04-02-25: I just wanted to include a small tidbit of the inspiration of this beat. Not only was this VERY much inspired by Soichi Terada's works, but also heavily influenced by the use of stereo audio phasing in Tekken 2 and 3 (though, I definitely have also heard this effect used in quite a few 90s video games as well!)

 I always found the use of it really cool and sometimes like to incorporate it into my beats for an added flair!

Trajectory

As I've been working on remixing and remastering the first Zenlike Creature album, I decided to revisit the second album, too. Oddly, the second album was actually written before the first (during Covid lockdown) and I'd always had plans for it to be recorded in a studio using fellow musician friends to record various parts. Sadly, this never came to pass and time has moved on.

So, here I am, tidying up the mixes, a bit of instrument replacement here and there, and remastering. Hope you enjoy!

I'm a journeyman artist that likes to make primarily VGM-like Jungle and Hip Hop tracks as a hobby (though, I sometimes delve into other genres occasionally). Most of the beats that I make are pretty serendipitous and spontaneous, leaving me to have bouts of creative blocks, unfortunately. I've definitely never studied sound theory or anything, but I feel like I'm starting to get decent at playing things by ear, lol.

Everything I make is free to download and use for any non-commercial purpose, the only thing I'd like is a shout-out!

I started making beats back in late 2008 on Garageband, moved on to PSP Rhythm in late 2009 and then to FL Studio in late 2012. Has it really been that long...? Man, I'm getting old.

I'm influenced mostly by a mix of the hip hop tracks I heard as a kid back in the late 90s/early 2000s and games that I played during that time. Soichi Terada (the composer of the music for the Ape Escape series) had a huge influence on me.

Secondary influences have to definitely be Rukunetsu, Marcell2aG (Negrosaki) (been a fan of both since 2009!), Amprsand (been a fan since 2010!) and NomedBeats (been a fan since 2014!).
