Happy New Year everyone! What better way to kick off the year 2014 then by uploading one of the best final battle music themes to have ever been written (or rather, one of my personal favourites). The only thing I loved about the Zeromus fight was the music. Zeromus as a boss was almost too cheap, Nuking and Black Holing everything in plain sight. Such a nightmare if you didn't prepare for it! For this rendition, I re-created the piece as if Final Fantasy IV was a Famicom game as opposed to a Super Famicom game. I'm sure Americans of an older generation will remember this game as being their SNES Final Fantasy II (with VI subsequently being SNES III). I'd like to think it works rather well, in particular, using clever switching in the PCM/FM channels for pseudo-OPL high quality crash symbol sampling akin to what you'd hear on more advanced hardware (such as the Megadrive's YM2612/DAC output).
