We are thrilled to welcome two artists we have long admired to mobilee, for a very special collaboration - Blaktone & Florian Kruse. Berlin’s Florian Kruse has been in the game a long time, releasing on Anjunadeep, Last Night On Earth, Kompakt and now (how?) for the very first time, mobilee. Similarly, Blaktone too have forged his own path through the melodic landscape, hailing from St. Petersburg, the duo have records on Bedrock and Sincopat amongst others.

Kicking off their meeting of minds, “Supernova” is a strong, deep groover, where solid sounds have their own space to shine and contribute to this fierce creation which features a unique vocal story from Joplyn that rightly so, leads the story of this track.

Next up, “Muscida” is no less powerful, but on a different tip. This time synths tell the winding tale that is sure to move the limbs of any listener.

We are gifted with 3 tracks on this stellar EP, and “The Earth Will Be Okay” closes things off as forcefully, yet subtly as the rest of the EP, which we admire not just for the uniqueness of each track, but the way in which it was built. We’re looking forward to hearing this one on a soundsystem.

A case of outer spatial melancholy, “Longing” starts off as a slo-hatching roller that aims for nothing but the vastness of greater summits. Reeling out in sustained glissandos and cascades of iridescent synth shades, the track guzzles us in a vortex of wistful grace. “Bridges & Walls” calls in further dynamic waves of keyboard jitter and multi-level machine talk, delayed arpeggios and dubbed-out bleeps blazing from the deeper end up to the sleek surface of its vivid synth tapestries with unrestrained ease.

“Off-Piste” moves the cursor back to a more inward-gazing kind of headspace with its dream pop-inherited buildup, unrelenting swing and laid-back pads oozing a most idyllic late summer vibe. Up with his first foray on the label is on-the-rise talent, Tal Fussman. Breaking the EP in, the title track puts forth a cold and frothing EBM signature. Built around pared-down samba-like syncopations and gridlocked drum architectonics, the track lays maximal emphasis on fluctuating layers of raucous machine spurts and sizzling portamentos geared to set the sound system’s circuits ablaze. 

“Protocol” then swerves onto further epic Italoid territories with warehouse-sized ambition, arpeggiated synths and piano stabs merging into an iridescent symphony of sorts, before “Truth” takes an unsuspected U-turn towards breaksy atmospherism and sleek, RnB-laced soulfulness. The perfect departure tune to an EP that finds Fussman showcasing the impressive breadth of his artistic palette.
