Wow - this was a really special night. So many incredible dancers beautifully and enthusiastically expressing to my set. Behold 2 hours of unplanned and spontaneously DJ'd deep melodic beauty, uplifting global vibes and transcendent joy.  

As an exploration of world music this house mix spans many continents and cultures, one whose coda ultimately concludes with two remixes that, while they were somewhat a deviation from the theme of global sounds, they perfectly summed up the collective heartspace of those deeply vibing wee hours at Burning Man. 

Massive thanks to Mark Duncan and crew at Soundgarden (2:00/Gobsmack) for creating an exemplary space for music and the movement community.

This mix is the sound of spring and the changes it brings. Holding onto the highs, the trebles, the tweaks and the whimsy. In a world that seems intent on getting smaller I cherish the flavours and colours from far and wide. As our spring rains fall they draw me outwards to a place of light and hope. Still holding on to the steady rhythms of the deep months that are almost behind us, those deeper tech beats that I’m always drawn to still remain. Memories drawn from old tracks made new .. Leonard, Lhasa, dub tempos, those 303 acid sounds that still roll around in my brain. Slower rhythms, gorgeous vocals, ups & downs and with them an awakening to the promise of all that lies ahead. Woodstove Festival is an annual November highlight!  I adore this quaint little Cumberland festival, and am always honoured to play.  I've been loving Amapiano vibes these days, so I kicked this set off with some hypnotic South African styles, mixed in some Afrohouse and then cut the tempo to bump some dirty hip hop, dancehall and different styles of world and Afro beats. Kai Altair is a songwriter, producer, and DJ with a deep reverence for movement, rhythm, and spiritual exploration. Her musical project is Aazav created with her partner Haj i Ji. Drawing inspiration from mystical traditions, nature's rhythms, and cosmic energies--Kai's original music & DJ sets are a journey into realms of worldly organica, sensual bass, big boom, and astral wubs. 

Aazav emerges from Kai & Haj's shared passion for music that animates both body and soul. Drawing from ancestral vocal traditions and deep woods sensibilities, their sound is a convergence of medicine melodies and global organica—a call to the central fire of remembered futures. Their debut album, "The Looking Stone," garnered support with stellar remixes from collaborators like David Starfire, Govinda, Kaminanda, Drumspyder, and Living Light.



Currently crafting a dancefloor-focused EP with gifted collaborators, they also host SYNERGY Ecstatic Dance & SANCTUM, an intentional temple space gathering at Soft Medicine in Sebastopol, California.
