Raw & Unmastered, here's my 1st of the month release.

Bassgaze is what I call this little genre fusion I'm working with. Maybe I'll call it Jukegaze in the future? Does that have a nicer ring to it? Maybe a combination of Dream Pop & Footwork... DreamWorks... hope nobody took that one already.

Anyway, while my music may be silly at times, and my album artwork a little kooky, I gotta clarify that it's not meant to be ironic or anything like that. Among the *numerous* societal issues that grow larger each day, I feel a lack of sincerity and an increase in detachment has ramped all of them up an 8th degree. There's of course ways to be funny & you can still be ironic, fine, sure, but I don't want anyone to get the impression that my music is made for anything else but a love of the genres being fused. It's very easy to write off the idea of, I don't know, putting 2 Live Crew acapellas over Ride songs, but it just fits well for me.

Growing up in Miami, there's a lot of pain, sadness. and anger constantly surrounding you, an entire community trapped on the edge of the Bermuda Triangle with the Earth getting hotter with every passing second, as well as a government that seems to love pushing down on everyone it rules over (even before Meatball Ronnie).

On the flip side, South Florida is also H0RNY with a capital H. There's a strip club on every corner the way other cities have [COFFEE CHAIN WHO DOES NOT GET FREE CLOUT]; we invented Miami Bass, maybe the raunchiest genre in the history of popular music (show me proof to otherwise), and we have swinger & nudist clubs in the middle of shopping centers & beaches.

The duality of these emotions & being raised in such an environment fuels my creative output as of late, among other things. Juke & Footwork are obviously a Northern export, but it's so heavily influenced by Miami Bass that it fits right at home. I love Florida as a state, people pick on us but it really is beautiful here, and I love reptiles, which are *everywhere* here (amphibians too... froggies are my favorite lil guys ever).

My music serves as a reflection and tribute to the bright lights & dark underworld that South Florida inhabits, an amalgamation of numerous cultural forces that makes you feel like you're living right smack dab in the dissolution of the monoculture. It can be a lot, scary even, but even when it's all underwater in [insert unfortunately not-so-distant year here], it will still be home.
