The live recording of the set I played at the oldschool goa festival Apsara in Hungary. I made the transition from night to sunrise. Expect a story going from psychedelic techno and industrial goa to melodic goa trance. Enjoy and dance like nobody is watching!

RISING SPIRIT FESTIVAL 1 HOUR SET by AudioPhiller

1st of November is All Saints in Belgium, the day we go to the cemetery to honor and pray for the people we lost. Because of the happenings at Nova Festival and the fact I was on that spot that same weekend, I wanted to honour all my personal pals and friends that went to the other world while dancing in an imaginary perfect world. I did this tribute through music. Sometimes words can't express feelings, but music can. This set was played at the Old is Gold party in Belgium the week after the happenings and it contains only music by Israëli artists, and some tracks from Naor Levi's (Dj Audiophiller) compilation. On top of that, many of the titles/samples have a special meaning as well. It is a 3 hours long journey from more darkish acidic goa-trance to heavenly melodic blisfull music. All mixed with CDJ2000's and original cds.

Important addendum: this tribute is not political in any way and, as a pacifist, I am against all violence. I believe every innocent dead person is a disgrace and a shame for mankind and I can only hope war stops right now. As a young dad every video with kids and babies that died or were bombed, simply breaks my heart. I hope all spirits of people that loved to dance and are not alive anymore can join in heaven on the wildest goa-party ever! Whatever history, color, religion or culture you have!

A fairly experimental piece, at least the bassline. It all becomes very buddha-ish however- But the interesting things happening here are the EQ-sweeps on the intro lead sound that becomes nearly demonic and filtered, but it's just on the mixer. And the bassline, which is kind of a straight machine gun KBBB one note thing. But I fucked it up. It started as a joke, but I got an interesting effect with a delay, and it almost sound like double kickdrums from death metal or something.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since I first heard this unique brand of electronic music in Tokyo and experienced major life trajectory change. There are impressions that have stayed with me from that first party in Tokyo (and many other key ones around the world) which I tap into when I’m playing my own sets: echoes and oscillations, alternating patterns, mysterious harmonies and melodies, guitars beamed down from another dimension, words triggering consciousness-expanding associations. I aim for my sets to have a flow of musical styles with a range of moods, styles, chords, and tempos, with the intention of recreating that otherworldly atmosphere that woke me up from the hypnosis of ordinariness back in 1994. This mix was created to celebrate 2020 and the Clear Vision that this number suggests… here’s to a year of crystal-clear vision and expansive experiences! – DJ Solitaire

DJ Solitare is Mark Ainley, a psychedelic trance DJ representing both the Italian retro label DAT Records and the legendary Tsuyoshi Suzuki’s label Matsuri Digital. A classically-trained musician still working in the classical industry, Mark has been active in the psy scene since 1994 and has evolved a mixing style that fuses the formative sounds of the psychedelic trance movement with the latest productions, a blend of old and new, to create a fresh present-time dancefloor experience.
