AEON010 is the result of careful devotion to perfection by AEON label manager and globally renowned electronic music prodigy, German DJ, producer - Alex Niggemann. 

Being the 10th in a line of successful releases from his newest label, it is a collection of the artists and compositions that helped AEON grow and flourish, aiding the imprint to stand tall in such a rife industry. AEON010 is a re-union of the unmatchable talent we’ve seen the label producing – regardless of the varying style and approach of each artist, each truly embodies the vision and education that is AEON.

This versatile LP showcases some of the biggest, most distinctive and most notable tracks on the label to date.

Dodi Palese’s eclectic expression “Astral Plane” is a journey of pulses and synths, rich with funky beats and a touch of psychedelic samba, whilst Belgian producer Jona takes you on a techy space-age story with ‘Traffic’, and Francys’ ‘Forest Watches’ presents an ethereal yet haunted dance before the track drops.

This is Alex Niggemann’s ensemble; an assortment of imaginative and acclaimed compositions that showcase AEON’s ethos, epitomise the sonic landscape of the label, and celebrate the artists that have aided its success.

Jakob Häglsperger AKA Kalipo is a busy man. Operating as one third of German electro-punk band Frittenbude, his solo alias was brought to life in 2014 with debut album “Yaruto”, released on experimental label Antime Records.

The multi-faceted producer now returns to Audiolith with the “Wanderer EP”, after having released the gorgeous “Mäusemarsch” this summer on the label’s electronic-focused Stiff Little Spinners compilation series.

“Wanderer “is a restless record which sees Kalipo work his way through the deeper ends of four to the flour with a refreshingly experimentalist approach to production, with defamiliarized samples and analogue gear running the show.

The music has changed since the Berliner’s debut album, becoming more propulsive, more physical and geared towards the dancefloor. Composed mostly on tour or over extended periods of travelling, the track names on “Wanderer” each come with their particular story, referencing places Kalipo has previously played or traveled to.

Monolithic opener “Donau Sunrise” sets the tone straight from the start with sanguine arpeggiators that work their way across a mystical backdrop. Melancholic themes infiltrate the cracks of the album and stand out tracks “Banana Garden”, written when Kalipo was stuck in a bamboo hut in the middle of thai jungle with a 40 degree fever and nothing else but headphones, a sampler and penicillin for company, and the stunning “Institute Of Cotton Wool” are set to become earworms of the highest order.

“Wanderer” sees Kalipo right in his element. Tension builds and dissolves gracefully throughout and the Berliner’s audacious approach to production give his music an authentic and very recognizable feel, one which is clearly Berlin-influenced but which also evades the set templates.

Wanderer is out January 2016 on Audiolith.

Kalipo is one of the most busiest and creative forces in Berlin’s electronic music scene. With over 30 million streams and global radio airplay, his solo project blends electronic intensity with emotional depth somewhere between club culture and indie aesthetics. Straight, driving beats rooted in Krautrock meet striking melodies inspired by Electroclash, House, and Techno from the 2000s and 2010s. His sound shifts between raw and emotive           – floating freely between Dark Disco, Electroclash, Wave, Techno, and House.

Kalipo himself describes his sound now as Disco Punk or Neo Punk – Tapping into a scene that's all about the spirit of today’s Indie Sleaze revival.

With five solo albums and a broad catalogue of singles and remixes on acclaimed labels like Iptamenos Discos, Ki Records, Get Physical, Audiolith Records and Heimlich, Kalipo has carved out a firm place in the scene. His releases have been praised by outlets such as Resident Advisor, TAZ, Spiegel Online, Rolling Stone, Musikexpress, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Groove, Tsugi, ELLE, and Penthouse.

Beyond his solo work, Kalipo is a founding member of the influential German band Frittenbude, which has played a key role in shaping the German Electropunk sound for nearly two decades and won the 1LIVE Krone, Germany’s top radio award. The band has regularly charted (in DACH Region) and performed at major festivals such as Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Hurricane, and Southside – playing in front of crowds of over 40,000 people.                                                                He is also part of the Disco-Darkwave trio Dina Summer (together with Local Suicide), which was hailed by FAZE Magazine as one of the most promising upcoming electronic acts in Germany.
