There are few artists who can match the technical wizardry and craft of Exoplanet. With over a century of credits found on the Proton and Particles imprints, it is February 2011's "Shepherd of Consciousness", with initial remixes from Chloe Harris and Moonbeam, that Yin : Yang now revisits with fine new interpretations from Greece and Poland.

An artist who has constantly been at the vanguard of the progressive house and breaks scene, Monojoke continues to cross new musical boundaries with his music. From early work in an incipient production career that began in 2006, Monojoke has developed strong relationships, with the likes of Clinique, Electronic Tree and Particles all regularly featuring his music. Furthermore, a century of production credits can be found within Spring Tube family labels that have included both remix and original production material. Supported by the DJ elite that includes Above & Beyond, Jaytech and Nick Warren, it is an honour to welcome Monojoke to Yang with a debut remix of Exoplanet. 

Treating "Shepherd of Consciousness" to his customary skill, Monojoke's use of original components turns the track into a full-blooded, dynamic affair. Chock full of intricate percussive rhythms, Exoplanet's wonderful lead riff is treated to a hypnotic treatment that evolves delicately throughout the seven-and-a-half-minute outing as a raft of additional production material is added post-breakdown in spectacular fashion. A deep and opulent bass line further serves to add depth, strength and warmth to an outstanding remix.

Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer, the Swiss duo recording and performing as Adriatique, sign the third Afterlife release of 2018, ‘Ray’. The two-track single follows their remix of Tale Of Us & Vaal’s ‘Monument’ in 2017, and marks the beginning of Adriatique’s own journey with Afterlife Recordings.

We first heard of ‘Ray’ in Tale Of Us’ sublime fabric 97 CD, where its soaring melody ended the mix on a euphoric high. It stands out as a scintillating dancefloor composition, whose lead synth line will no-doubt create many memorable dancefloor moments. ‘Voices From The Dawn’ takes a more subtle approach to the same thrilling effect. Driven by the rolling beats, it reveals itself sporadically in spirited surges of life.

These two tracks not only show the range of Adriatique’s production focus, but show them to be highly-accomplished whether making hypnotic, peak-time grooves or epic songs for the end of the night.

Ellen Allien - one of Berlin’s most ardent techno ambassadors - proudly unveils her latest full-length expedition into the realms of underground electronica. Brimming with creative energy, Ellen’s new LP AURAA follows her 2019 release Alientronic, and is her third album in three years. Raw, emotive and capable of transporting you from reality to an electrofied fantasy, AURAA explores the notion of unseen energies controlling our planet.

Beginning with the faintest hint of trance euphoria on the downtempo ‘Hello Planet Earth (Breath Mix)’, the album soon moves into more bumpin’ territory with ‘In Music I Trust’ - Ellen’s signature use of vocals-as-melody entrancing the listener. ‘Walking In The Dark’ takes things up a notch further with jabbing percussion and mesmerising atmospherics, followed by ‘Confusion’, a masterclass in heady hypnotic composition. ‘Human’ is a deeply affecting beatless segue with its drone-esque soundscape. ‘True Romantics’ taps into your emotional centre utilising hard beats and wistful synth lines.
