For number forty two, comes a mix from someone whose mixes have soundtracked many of my days in the last few years. @alblayney is a Dublin, Ireland based digger, DJ and label head - running @appiansounds label and more recently @spaceshepherdmusic

Al is a relentless digger for smooth dub techno and dreamy house and electronica records - sounds which trademark his always lovely mixes. 
Beyond his knack for crafting mixes, Al's label @appiansounds has seen releases from the likes of @forest-drive-west , @o-utlier and many more, and boasts a diverse, classy and exciting catalogue of music.

From the city of Oslo comes a rare gem of a DJ called Kompressorkanonen. Followers of the prestigious Trushmix series might noticed the name before while it remaines criminally overlooked by too many. We are proud of the chance to introduce this KILLER deejay to a few more future admirers and we are grateful for the excellent mix this gentleman crafted for us. Steffen’s visits in Prague are usually quite memorable. Breathing in a fresh vibe on the anniversary evening in the frontyard, magnetising the early morning crowd at Planeta, smoking out the backstage rave; he always know what records to pack when coming to Prague. Recently he made his mark when opening a night before Aleksi Perälä’s live performance at Lunchmeat Teknologi in May 2023, where he filled the floor instantly with a selection of soft and heavy techno. To refresh the memory, we’re publishing an extract from the set as the 29th episode of our podcast.

First time on NACHTIs Ambient Stage, but certainly not the first time on stage, LINO REX has played herself into the memories of their primarily laying listeners with dubby tunes and thus created a rhythmic, lulling feel-good atmosphere on late Saturday afternoon. @linol_music has the talent to take her listeners on a journey between percussions and bass, on a dubby trip that can be constructed even after a month again within your own four walls. Known for his trusted label Die Orakel, programming the dancefloor at Offenbach institution Robert Johnson and heading up EOS radio, Oliver Hafenbauer is no stranger to the game. 

For the latest instalment of Off-Kilter, he presents us with an uncompromising mix that spans a multitude of genres; dance music influenced but sitting on the fringes, woven intricately together - dark and suspenseful yet light and hypnotic. Downtempo, house, techno, cosmic and unruly, spiralling sounds and cycles of rhythm overlapping and phasing in time.

Oliver Hafenbauer is an experienced and versatile DJ with a long-standing history of being one of the key figures in the local club scene and beyond. 

Stylistically motivated to what is beat-driven and highly danceable, he has the perfect sensitivity for the contexts he is involved with. Oliver set his priorities differently a while ago when he hung up a potential career in architecture and decided to go for the music after having DJed for years and promoted his party series. Oliver’s steady commitment to Offenbach’s vastly respected venue has brought him wide recognition: For over a decade, he functioned as music director of Robert Johnson and managed the associated label of the same name. Working behind the scenes allows not only different perspectives but enables many alliances. Rather than producing as a strategy, he consequently fosters talent on his imprint Die Orakel, where he releases music positively undetermined between dance and ambient by artists like upsammy, Reptant, or Roman Flügel. 

Oliver has been co-founder of the Frankfurt-based online radio station EOS Radio since 2021. Last but not least, his approach to playing music as a conceptual act within diverse networks of artists and audiences is what makes of him an allrounder of many qualities.
