«I'm Honestly Not A Gangster» Is the first track of a project I’m working on called the Kids Tape. It’s not an EP, it’s not an album, just a series of songs that represent what I’m doing at the moment. 
releasing a lot of different styles that I'm into and I’m hoping to show you more of what I like to do with music. On a lot of these songs I’ll be using my own voice, there will be some videos and some featuring artists/producers. Acknowledging the Land is very important - 

We stand on the traditional lands of the ones who we know today as the Ohlone people. Ohlone Territory spans from San Francisco East towards Oakland and South towards Monterey. There are 8 language dialects within this territory and historically there are over 60 village sites .

It is important that we recognize the original stewards of the territory.
We pay our respect to elders both past and present. 
We acknowledge that not only are we on their lands but that they are still here and part of the community.

There are active Community groups that have indigenous ancestry to this territory and it's important that we as community learn and connect.

This land has been home to Ohlone peoples for more than 10,000 years. We acknowledge the Ramaytush Ohlone, neighbored by the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe and Confederated Villages of Lisjan Ohlone in the East Bay. To the south, we acknowledge the Amah Mustun Tribal Band and Indian Canyon Band, the Costanoan Rumsen Carmel Tribe, and the Ohlone/Costanoan Esselen Nation. To the west, we acknowledge the great Pacific Ocean that has connected peoples along the coast and across the waters for generation upon generation. To the north, we acknowledge the Coast Miwok, who along with the Southern Pomo, are the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. This land remains the home of Ohlone, Miwok, and other coastal California Indigenous peoples. It is also the home of many Indigenous peoples as a result of federal relocation polices such as Cherokee, Dine, T’ohono O’odham and other First Nations and the heart of important Indigenous political movements, including the historic occupation of Alcatraz Island in 1969 as part of the American Indian Movement. Today, this land is also home to Indigenous migrants from the south, including Mixtec, Zapotec, and Maya. We honor their ancestors, elders, and community leaders, past, present, and into the future. We speak these words to honor the Ohlone peoples and invite all here to reflect on their relationship to the histories of this land and her peoples. Today, San Francisco remains among the top 10 cities with the highest rates of missing and murdered Indigenous women. We also wish to mention that at this time the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band is working to protect Juristac, a sacred place in Santa Clara County, from a massive mining development. We invite you to get involved and do your part to work with and support Indigenous struggles on these lands. May the balance be restored.

I saw this dude on Austin's 6th street around the time of South by South west hitting on  a bucket...

We have all seen and ignored people pounding on buckets on the street, but this was different. It was the most amazing performance I have ever seen. He continued for hours without stopping or missing a beat mixing it up like I have never seen before. It was the most incredible thing I had ever seen. Finally, I caught him at stop. I dropped him a 20 and asked if he had a CD, he looked at me dazed, and smiled and said 'JA'! He sent me here, and said there was an album available on Amazon (I think). I burned the audiopharmacy name in my head because that is all I had to go from. I followed up and bought the album without considering what I would be getting. I really wanted hours of him beating on the bucket (believe me when I say it), but this is just as GOOD (I still want a bucket CD)! This album goes all over the place with great hits. It's all good, but some of it's so good, it turns the heads of unsuspecting people (In a good way). I love the meditation series, and Click. This is a must have album!

Introduction Bio:
Kanyon Sayers-Roods is Costanoan Ohlone-Mutsun and Chumash; she also goes by her given Native name, “Coyote Woman”. She is proud of her heritage and her native name (though it comes with its own back story), and is very active in the Native Community. She is an Artist, Poet, Published Author, Activist, Student and Teacher. The daughter of Ann-Marie Sayers, she was raised in Indian Canyon, trust land of her family, which currently is one of the few spaces in Central California available for the Indigenous community for ceremony. Kanyon’s art has been featured at the De Young Museum, The Somarts Gallery, Gathering Tribes, Snag Magazine, and numerous Powwows and Indigenous Gatherings. She is a recent graduate of the Art Institute of California, Sunnyvale, obtaining her Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Web Design and Interactive Media. She is motivated to learn, teach, start conversations around decolonization and reinidgenization, permaculture and to continue doing what she loves, Art.

“I am a creative artist ever inspired by nature and the natural world. I make a difference in the lives of others by sharing my life experiences and knowledge about California Native Americans. I have the gift of communication, starting conversations around decolonization and indigenization, and challenge myself to utilize this gift to deliver powerfully effective messages for others. Artist Statement:     Costanoan Ohlone Mutsun and Chumash Native American Kanyon Sayers-Roods’ (Hahashkani-Coyote Woman) art is a sincere expression of her Native heritage. Kanyon’s visual descriptions are always based on nature and the natural world. Dedicated and active in the Native Community, Kanyon provides leadership, serving as an artist, poet, activist, student and teacher for up and coming scholars ready to challenge their creative paths and remind people what it means to decolonized. Kanyon’s lifelong artistic vision is to convey principal ideas of Native culture through visual means. Offering her voice and her art to remind our community that Indigenous perspectives and cultural continuity is ever present and prevalent.
