This project has been a special work for me as a music producer student. I didn't realise about the  power of  sound  and first I became aware of it when I was doing a research about Cymatics. Cymatics is a study of wave phenomena, ability of sound to organise and re-pattern matter. During this research I became familiar with Solfeggio tones and I started to deeper investigate this subject. This powerful scale was lost and forgotten for thousands of years and rediscover by Dr. Joseph S. Puelo in 1974. He was guided to the Pythagorean method of numerical reduction which led to his deciphering of the frequency of these notes. I read a book Healing Sounds, the power of harmonics wrote by Jonathan Goldman who is an authority on sound healing and a pioneer in the field of harmonics. The book shows scientific and spiritual  point of view about transformative power of sound for healing on physical and spiritual levels. This knowledge was well known and  understood in Ancient times when people developed specific chants and tones for healing. Overtone chanting also known as vocal harmonics is ability of human voice to create two or more notes at the same time. This ability was practiced around the world  mainly by shamans, healers and monks in Tibet,  Mongolia, South America and  Africa. Also in Australia by Aborigines who instead of voice were using didgeridoos. 
I was so fascinated about that and  I decided to create a piece of music using healing Solfeggio frequencies, harmonics and overtone chanting. I found how to tune in a scale in Logic and I started to experiment with Solfeggio tones and harmonics. I was creating a sound waves in specific frequency. Pan fundamental sound hard to one side and harmonics to another.  Also I added some ambience sounds to create a space, didgeridoo and overtones chanting by Tibetan monks. Music slowly  entering to state of relaxation starts from 396 Hz and going up to 417 Hz, 528 Hz 639 Hz, 741 Hz, 852 Hz and finish at 963 Hz. Normally there is 9 Solfeggio tones including 174 Hz and 285 Hz but just seven of them correspond to chakras.
Now you have a chance to experience these frequencies. Join to the journey through yourself, listen your inner voice and expand your consciousness. We are living in times of planetary evolution. For many different reasons we becoming aware about ourselves and about human potential. Sound play main role in these times and is helping us create a better world.

Shantijaz BIO:

Shantijaz is the result of a beautifull story , full of travels and adventures, started in 2010.
    
A musician from a little island in the atlantic see, that started to travel with 18 years old over Europe. 6 years after 2010, Carlo Cattano arrives to Turkey, and meet in Istanbul Metehan Cifci and Ulas cibuk, also artists and travellers originally from turkey.
    
After this meeting, they decide to make music toghether, in the streets of Istanbul, with their instruments,why not? The  Didgeridoo, The iranian Santoor and  the Daf Drum.

In the first seconds of that first 5 minutes of playing in street the people was tottaly stopped, more than the half of a big street was blocked, people has open eyes and hearths,there is a perfect circle of people, and Shantijaz is playing for the first time, as if they knew each other from long ago. The music is coming slowly out ,like a big but calm river in spring. The energy is that much high that makes people fall in Trance, Oriental flavours surrounded by a deep ancient bass. 

...A full night recording in a studio, then the first baby was born , Pangea , young and fresh , a record where you can feel how that magic was working in the first moments of meeting, recorded without any additives


2011 is the first Travel of Shantijaz to Europe Performing in many European capitals and Festivals the incredible feedback recived, not only in Turkey  but also  in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Swizzerland etc, reveals that shantijaz is not only a musical fenomenon near the home land of their instruments , but everywhere.

Now the group has grown, in the live recordings you can feel that now they talk as good friends with the music, talking to the hearths of the people with a music without any need of words.

2012 - Shantijaz is pleased to  recive Demir Asaad , artist and music student in Istanbul, as the new percusionist. Cajon , Bendir , djembe are invited now to jump into the didgeridoo and the santoor,now that they have their own language developed, that much that they could play with eyes closed.

The last recordings of shantijaz rehearsals, are already another step higher, the same concept rise the next level, A sweet taste of what will come in next concerts and new album!

This is the full length Shamanic Sound Journey recorded LIVE at Noorish Yoga on Saturday April 20, 2013.  I played to a full house of 30 and the energy was INCREDIBLE!! I am super grateful for the amazing turn out, the loving support from the community, the breathtaking images captured by Luke GS﻿ (coming soon!) and the phenomenal audio quality of this recording!  

NOTE: Everything you are about to hear is exactly what THEY heard on Saturday.  This is attributed to the beautiful technology of Ableton Live and the Akai APC 40 controller.  Thanks technology!!
