Mind Soothers

This is an environmental composition using field recordings from a garden in Fitzroy North. The samples are taken from sounds found within the space, leaves from the ground, water from the fish pond and river rocks used to make a dry stone wall of colossal proportions.

recorded on board a rowboat on the river Ganges - this recording begins at the funeral pyres and continues to the area where evening prayer ceremony is held.  The Ganges is the holiest river in the Hindu faith. People are cremated alongside the river, and their ashes spread into the river itself, 24 hours a day everyday of the year.
