Beat In Me is back for its second release. Recognized for bringing some of the most cutting-edge Romanian DJs to his event series under the same name in Tokyo, RAHA keeps pushing the envelope with Beat in Me. This time he introduces, with sincere confidence, two Japanese artists he has long supported: Tomohiro Yano and Yuji Kobayashi.

"Sazae EP" features two original tracks from Tomohiro and Yuji, respectively, and a collaborative work from both, perfectly displaying their raw talent and individual styles.
'BW 002' finds Tomohiro Yano exploring sounds profoundly connected to the Romanian house scene: snappy drums, hypnotic midrange textures, and a whole panoply of very organically detailed soundscapes that work their way into the subconscious. Below the veil, a constant kick-drum on the 1's and the 3's keeps everything marching like a dance ritual on a dancefloor. 
Yuji Kobayashi expands on the idea of hypnotic dancefloor shamanism and showcases his meticulous drum programming and impeccable sound-design skills with 'Mirror Ripples’. Modular bleeps, morphing basses, ghostly textures; everything here flows organically, like a sonic ecosystem to get lost in. 
Closing the EP with a collaboration, Yuji and Tomohiro bring their best to the game. Together, they created an even deeper excursion into drum syncopation with deeply melodic undertones, a world of understated grooves made to get lost in time and space. 

Displaying a unique knowledge of house and techno music with minimal character, "Sazae EP" seems like the perfect alternative for those thirsty for the type of tracks hailing from Romania, with an added Japanese sensibility that perfectly fits those dancefloors craving for intensely hypnotic grooves.

東京で開催する同名のパーティーにて、[a:rpia:r]を始めとする数々のルーマニアンアーティストを招聘してきたRAHAの主催するレーベルBeat In Meの第二弾。今回は彼自身もかねてから強くサポートしてきた日本人アーティスト、Tomohiro YanoとYuji Kobayashiの２人を世界に自信を持って紹介するEPとなっています。

There is a demonstration class at the Department of Experimental Phonetics and Speech Synthesis. The choir of humanoid students generates an accompaniment of different keys. The teachers closely follow their practical work. These wanna-be signal analysts and intergalactic translators may be among the participants. Sound adjustments are made by Enzo Leep using dense percussion, Phoq causes acoustic mutations, and Krissky conducts instrumental bundles.

We're thrilled to share the first Live Moments episode of 2020 with an exclusive live recorded mix by one of the purest Romanian-sound ambassador Ada Kaleh. He's responsible for numerous gems on labels such as the prestigious 'R&S Records', Maher Daniel's 'The Other Side', UVAR and his own 'Ada Kaleh România'. This mix arrives straight from one of the most interesting realities in the European panorama: the Folkor club. This Lausanne based location carries on a no-phone policy that allows it to truly live a 360 degrees club experience and has hosted huge names such as Archie Hamilton, Yaya, Sonja Moonear, Raresh Cabanne, Giorgio Maulini, Cap, Funk E and many many more.

Sublime sounds and hypnotic grooves stimulate her being, compelling her to source and mix, creating a micro, minimal, soul-stirring experience she calls astral:house. Those who crave nourishing sonic sessions have followed Katharine’s journey along the Australian East Coast alongside her musical partner Ben Abrahams for over two decades as they’ve influenced the scene with their exciting taste & consistent delivery of stimulating underground house & techno, both in clubs & outdoors. 

Together they created ‘Strange Brew’, an all ages acid-house vinyl party at the Billinudgel Pub, Byron Bay, at which time the infamous 'Shed' was built;  revelling in the Outback for sunset was deliciously surreal, dancing to stripped back house grooves amongst the gum trees. 

They ran eight extremely memorable years of Saturday nights at Elsewhere Bar on the Gold Coast. Katharine played psychedelic house before Ben's killer 5 hour sets, then both joined together for the heaving sweaty early morning hours.  Elsewhere won Best Music for a Club in Australia at the Sydney Bar Music Awards at that time. All vinyl back then.

Katharine had the first of her two children before returning to Melbourne and putting on high-vibe parties at the infamous Killing Time Bar & My Aeon,  always with a tight crew of Australia’s best underground djs.  

Katharine made mixes for Art-E Romania and the Microtechno Podcast series 9 years ago, having long been recognised for her way with intricate sounds, particularly with lovers of micro-house & the Romanian influenced minimal.  She appreciates music which alludes to the transcendent - both gently & powerfully.  As an undeniably charged up being she just keeps on lovingly creating fresh soundtracks for her friends’ lives. Last year she made 21 mixes for amazing collectives around the world, including Half is Enough Romania's Strangers in the Night: each session is an experience. 

Her unique way elevates and deeply satisfies at both sunset & sunrise, and she has played magical closing sets out in the forest, most recently for the Comfort Zone crew on their final day on the main stage by the creek.
