'Distance' is the representation of broken feelings, eternal sadness and loneliness, a source of pain and joy at the same time. It’s the expression of a sense of melancholy and nostalgia when you lose someone you love, someone who’s so far away now.
A sense of nostalgia that combines the sadness of loss with the joy or satisfaction that the loss is not complete, nor can ever be, since we can imagine and remembrances are still part of us.

In Glasgow, the summer typically lasts the best part of a week and if you're one of the many people unfortunate enough to have a day job, you’re going to see most of it through the office window. I used to work this really sh***y office job and whenever it became too much for me (Which was often the case) I used to look at photos of these perfect Miami beaches and attempt to project myself to that location. Almost like a mental vacation. These idyllic, pictures of purple skies that seemed to be drenched in an eternal amber twilight so thick it was palpable.

That's what I wanted to capture in this track. I wanted to take the listener on a brief mental vacation.

The Kayaz Kollektiv is a new notion in recording labels. The studio is completely digital and produces music with the collaborators using the internet to transfer files, allowing us to work all over the world in real-time.
