William Daniel’s passion for electronic music began at a young age, growing up in Scotland during the golden era of trance, techno, and house. His first exposure to underground music came through pirate radio, where he discovered the raw energy of unfiltered club sounds. Listening to these illicit broadcasts fueled his desire to become a DJ, and before long, he was making his own mixes and experimenting with turntables.

In his teenage years, William became involved in pirate radio himself, broadcasting underground dance music to local audiences. These early experiences sharpened his skills in track selection, blending genres, and understanding the energy of a set - skills that would later define his career. His dedication and natural talent behind the decks quickly led him into Scotland’s club scene, setting him on a path to becoming one of the country’s most respected DJs.

William’s career took off when he secured residencies at some of Scotland’s most iconic club nights, including Colours, Inside Out, and Freefall at the legendary Arches nightclub in Glasgow. The Arches was a cornerstone of UK clubbing, hosting world-class DJs and unforgettable nights. His ability to craft euphoric, high-energy sets made him a key figure in the club’s history, earning him a dedicated following.

His deep connection with The Arches lives on through his DJ sets and Forgotten Moments mix series, where he curates nostalgic sets featuring the classic tracks that defined the club’s golden era. These mixes have resonated with fans worldwide, keeping the spirit of the venue alive.

Beyond DJing, William has played a crucial role in the music industry through his work at 23rd Precinct Music, one of Scotland’s most respected independent music publishers and record stores. His experience at 23rd Precinct allowed him to gain deep industry insight, working alongside established artists, discovering emerging talent, and helping shape the trajectory of electronic music in the UK.

His work in A&R, label management, and music publishing at 23rd Precinct strengthened his influence in the scene, giving him a unique perspective on both the creative and business sides of the industry. Through this role, he contributed to the success of various artists and helped curate some of the best music releases in the dance genre.

In addition to his DJing and industry work, William has made significant contributions as a music journalist, writing for M8 Magazine and Beatsmedia.

M8 Magazine was one of the UK’s most respected dance music publications, covering global club culture, artist interviews, and the latest industry trends. William’s in-depth knowledge and firsthand experience made him a key contributor, delivering reviews, features, and exclusive insights into the world of electronic music.
Beatsmedia was an influential online platform dedicated to electronic music news, interviews, and features. As a writer, William helped promote emerging artists, reviewed major releases, and kept fans informed about the evolving dance music scene.
His work in journalism further solidified his industry expertise and credibility, allowing him to connect with both fans and professionals on a deeper level.

One of William’s recent standout achievements was his involvement in Vinyl Fantasy, a special event held at SWG3, one of Glasgow’s most renowned club venues. This sold-out show was a celebration of classic vinyl DJing, bringing together old-school energy with a modern audience.

As a passionate advocate for vinyl culture, William’s set at Vinyl Fantasy was a masterclass in mixing, track selection, and crowd connection, taking clubbers on a nostalgic journey through some of the most iconic records in dance music history. Scotland’s electronic music scene is easily one of the healthiest and most active in the world. The country seems to produce talented DJ's and producers on a near daily basis and Mikey Duncan is yet another example of the abundance of musical riches the country has to offer. Heavily influenced by the electronic style of the 1980s, as well as house and techno artists like Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Eats Everything and Joris Voorn, Mikey has developed his own unique sound which is guaranteed to induce a “hands in the air, feel good vibe” anywhere he lays down some tracks.

With over ten year’s worth of DJ'ing experience to his name, the list of international artists Mikey has supported reads like a “Definitive Who’s Who Guide to Electronic Music”, including Carl Cox, Eats Everything, Yousef and Kerri Chandler to name just a few. Having quickly established himself as one of Scotland’s most exciting emerging talents, appearing in venues like the legendary Arches in Glasgow and on lineups for some of the country’s most established brands including the hugely popular Colours, Mikey’s next steps took him to Ibiza. It was here that the brand Mikey co-runs, DigitalGroove took the bull by the horns and gained international recognition with a residency at Carl Cox’s Music is Revolution in the world famous Space for three consecutive seasons between 2014 and 2016 before it’s doors were closed for the final time. In 2017 Mikey also played at “Pure Carl Cox” in Privilege, Ibiza, the world’s biggest nightclub. Mikey has also played in other iconic venues including Cafe Del Mar, Eden Ibiza, Sankeys Ibiza, The O2 and Ministry of Sound in London, as well as a host of amazing festivals including Elrow, Terminal V and Southport Weekender.

Over the last eight years, Mikey has achieved a long list of solo productions and collaborations released on various labels, including Natura Viva, 18-09 Records, Recovery House and 13 Records as well as releases on his co-run label DigitalGroove Records with support coming from some of the big hitters in the industry including none other than Laurent Garnier.

Mikey has a number of solo projects and collaborations lined up in the studio as well as a monthly radio show on Ibiza Club News Radio  so you’re likely to be hearing some of Mikey’s music very soon.
