Stepping up to the plate for our next release is Nizth with The Perazine EP. 

After blessing us with a killer free download in "My Style" and then providing one of the standout tracks on our Volume 1 compilation with "Last Blood" we felt it was only right that he should get a full solo release with "The Perazine EP". Here the Russian producer treats us to 4 hard-hitting system rattlers that will get your subwoofer working overtime. This is not one to be slept on if you like it moody.

This EP's title track combines dark and eerie melodies with razor sharp drums and a deep, churning bass to create something that really wouldn't sound out-of-place in a horror movie, though personally we think it would be better suited to a dark and sweaty dancefloor. If you're familiar with Nizth's previous outings on DPR then this simple formula of deep bass, sharp drums and a spooky melody should be something that you're used to hearing from him, but with this track it feels like he's refined and perfected the formula and the results are spellbinding.

Nizth - Perazine

The continuous activity of Locus Sound has quickly become something to admire. Delivering some of my favourites throughout the year from the likes of Maes and Cartridge, the Bristol based label are already looking to branch out whilst keeping things strictly bass centric. Opening up a new outlet for multi-genre projects, Locus Sound welcome fellow Bristol native Roy Bar to the stacked roster, and it's a perfect fit. 'Icarus' moves through six tracks of addictive and diverse dance floor heaters whilst rolling through an impressive wide range of tempos. Being the 140 obsessive that I am however, it's a pleasure to be premiering the lone Dubstep focused track of the six, 'Growler'.

It's the year 2420 and planet earth as we know it remains but a memory in the all so distant past. After countless wars destroyed almost every inhabitable corner of the earth and the rays of the scorching sun became more unbearable as time flew by, humanity was at the brink of extinction.

Driven by their instincts to survive, a new species was born out of the ashes of its predecessors, which call themselves 'Umans'. Lacking every sign of humanity, hence the name, driven purely by their instincts they've turned into ruthless creatures whom only goal is to live to see another day.

But even savages have to obey the laws of nature, and as nature dictates, every pac must have a leader. 'Bruk' as they call him is the worst of them all. His rage and sheer strength is unrivaled, with one growl he can subdue anyone at any time without the need to lift a finger. Aside from his physical ability he has one major advantage, intelligence. Being able to recognise 'Forms' he has an ability to blend into his surroundings which is far superior to the rest of his pac. But as time moved on the unpredictable happened, one of the so-called 'Umans' started to stand out from the rest and got the attention of their leader.

Honing its strength and knowledge by the day, the time for him to stand up against all odds and be the new leader of the 'Umans' was not far away. All we know about him is that he calls himself Ramsez.
