DEADLETTER - Fit For Work (Josh Ludlow Edit)

This Afro-pop gem showcases the incredible vocals of Ivorian singer Nayanka Bell, known as the "Barbra Streisand of Africa." Her voice is accompanied by a blend of more traditional Ivorian rhythms and smooth pieces of electronic pop on top of it.

Little side note; This album won the Africa Music Award in 1994, which is the same year she won the prize for most beautiful female voice of Africa. 
And I totally get why she won both prizes!

The track’s arrangement is a perfect balance of organic and modern elements. Where I normally would go for the horns (that are incredibly warm and energetic in this track), for it the guitar part that gets me in this tune.

For this version, I did some rework on the structure to enhance the flow of the track a bit. I did use the CD version of the album for this edit. But most work went into redoing the drums ever so slightly to give the track somewhat more body for the big systems.
