"Cimmerian was one of the last songs we did for the album. I think we were all kind of dealing with some intense gloom at the time. I asked D3 if he was interested in doing a bossa nova tune. He put together the drums and percussion and piano and I played some guitar and sang, but then we had to call in the big guns to give it some flavor! Alex Sinfield is on the saxophone. He's great, love his stuff, he's got the right touch, all the time. Cheers to Alex! And of course then we thought a little father son duo on a song would be great so we begged Russ Sinfield to pick up his new guitar, fix the noise problem in the wiring and then rip us a beautiful guitar solo. The Sinfields rock. All in all, it came together pretty quickly and easily. One of my faves on the album. It's definitely dark and gloomy. Cheers!!"

This is a very mean & moody Gibbo stood standing, silently singing ...more than thoughtful...leaning his back against his decaying doorway...
Terry somewhere in the chancellery, nonchalantly flipping a coin, with something nasty on one side and a worn out memory on the other. Offering some hope? Maybe not...
Me? Well, I'm in the toilet, with a grumbling bass whilst spouting a slightly sinister 'Andrews Sisters' thing :-)
