With the California Bay Area native's background in sound design, he has been perfecting his craft in electronic music for over a decade. This multi-genre producer strives to tell stories through his music and mixes, taking the listener on a kinetic yet spacious journey with his original sounds and movements. He is a founding member of Inquiry Collective where he handles all things graphic-related and manages their record label, @Inquiry-Records.
'I felt it would be appropriate to re|flect back on some of my favorite productions in the last few years, so I prepared a mostly original set. It goes through DnB, Breaks, UK Garage, and a little Ambient/Dubsteppy stuff. I haven't done many all or mostly original sets, but am very happy with how this came out. Sofa Beats series continues, this time with the mixed version of Psi-Fi “Book Of Change” compilation by KUKAN-DUB-LAGAN.

KUKAN-DUB-LAGAN is the project of Itay Berger. Itay is 40 years old, located in Barcelona, Spain. He has been listening and playing electronic music since he was 16 years old. He spent over 3 years working as a sound engineer in one of the top sound and light companies in Israel. His decision to make music was strongly influenced by his trip to Ibiza in 1997-8. At that time he also started to preform in Israel and abroad at mostly underground parties. Itay’s general musical influences are wide-ranging. His journey into chill-out djing started in 2002 in Israel. During that time he was also signed by a UK techno-house label (www.klubdj.co.uk) under the name DJ Itay for a year and flew to Japan to play at parties in Osaka and Kyoto. Returning back to Israel, he enrolled to sound engineering college for one year and totally committed
himself to music composition. Drawing from his djing experience, his early family musical influences as well as his own musical background he created his chill-out project: KUKAN-DUB-LAGAN.

All of us are struggling right now… With our jobs, health, relationships, cabin fever, financial issues, etc. Recently I've been pretty down and while I’m am completely healthy, my mind is beginning to struggle.. I've really needed something to motivate and distract me from all the bs. A couple weeks ago, I decided to take over @inquiry-records Twitch account on a rainy Sunday afternoon to play music that soothes the soul, medicates the mind and maybe give a slight escape to those who need it right now…
