James Wakefield is a composer and producer known for his emotionally rich and highly imaginative film scores. With a natural sensitivity to both character and narrative, his music has the unique ability to enhance a scene’s emotional depth, forming a lasting connection with audiences.

James' work can be heard in award-winning films such as The Forgotten Place, Little Jar, Bang Bang (starring Tim Blake Nelson and Kevin Corrigan), and Keep Quiet (starring Lou Diamond Phillips). Kevin Corrigan (The Departed, Superbad) has said of James' music for Bang Bang, "It’s one of the reasons to love the film."

As the resident composer for Grey Rabbit Films, James has contributed to a number of short films, constantly exploring new ways to blend creativity with technical skill. His work has brought a fresh energy to every project, with producers and directors appreciating his versatility. Michael Rousselet from Little Jar said, “James went above and beyond for the music on our feature film Little Jar. His masterful use of real instruments and unexpected sound sources took the film to a whole other level.”

Known for quick turnarounds and a flexible, open-minded approach to each project, James has earned a reputation for making the creative process feel effortless. Director Vincent Grashaw remarked, “He was incredibly easy to work with, took notes to any cue we did, and the turnaround was at lightning speed. He moves fast, he has a wide variety of musical talents, regardless of genre of music or score – he did it all.”

While still growing in the industry, James is passionate about bringing each project to life with an emphasis on creativity and emotional depth.

Forced to make a living for years . . . now back to music!

My livelihood depends on the kindness of people like you.  Like artists through the ages, I devote my energies to the gift I have been given, and in turn, depend on the generosity of others who recognize the value of artists to the world and their own role as benefactors.  We all need and support each other for a healthy world.

As a composer, my piano music is featured in an audiobook by award-winning author Nikki Grimes, and my musical scores for theatrical productions by author/director/storyteller Cora Alley are performed worldwide.  I am currently collaborating with my talented brother, Drew Ward—a Lucie Arnaz Award-winning director/writer/poet—on a musical called Beyond This Point.

As a songwriter, my pop song, "Givin' Up Givin' Up", appears in all best-of collections by Grammy- and Dove Award-winning artist Bryan Duncan.  I currently work with songwriters Kayte Deioma and Mark Piatelli in our songwriting collaborative project, Suddenly Flying, of Occasionally Preferred Partners.

I have played clarinet and lead alto sax in orchestras for Grammy-winning artists Natalie Cole, Llew Matthews, and Michael W. Smith; in my own bands, The BlackWood Jazz Combo, Rail City Jazz, and Jazz on a Stick; as a sideman for Chuck Ousley, the Dewdroppers, and others; and as clarinetist with the New Orleans Traditional Jazz Band of Los Angeles.  I love traveling, playing on the street, and other places where people cannot get out on their own to enjoy live music.  I recently recorded the alto sax theme for Thirty Minutes, a film by Claire Elizabeth Terry, scored by Bruno Valenti, which has won numerous (over 30) prestigious film festival awards around the world.

After more than 30 years in LA and Orange County, I relocated to Southeast Idaho, where I live with my wife Pam and adventure dog, Rusty.  From my private studio, Red Sea Studio 22, I continue to compose and record music, rehearse, and Zoom with friends and family, musicians, and others around the globe.

Started making music with a drum machine and a tape recorder back in 2001 Producing two tapes 2001s Killa 4 Hire and 2002s Just Another Killa Thug under the name DAT Killa Joe. After moving to Seattle in 2004 and changing his name to HoJo and forming a group called the Neo Ninjas they put out the first digital record 2004s Feedusthefetus fallowed up by 2005s The Blunt Monkey Ep 2006s Something Sweet Lp and 2007s Stems & Seeds Ep In 2009 after adopting the last name Nagasaki he put it his first fully self produced solo album 2009s MindbreaK. Fallowed up by 2011s Paranoid Lp 2013s self titled HOJO NAGASAKI Lp and years later 2021s The Other Side Of The Gate Ep. there’s other stuff in between some of those projects like the Delta Grhyme albums and a 2012 project where HoJo released a new track for a whole year. The people and places have changed but HoJo Nagasaki is still pushing on into tomorrow.

Bio - Kringo is a British singer/songwriter and live solo musician with a voice and sound that extends over various genres described as a soul indie folker with intricate guitar wizardry and reggae influences. 

Starting off as a drummer in the early noughties it’s clear to see the rhythmically inherent attributes brought forward into his guitar playing. Having jumped genres from Rock to established Hip Hop outfit CaseClosed, Kringo found himself supporting the likes of uncle festa, Goldie Looking Chain, Devlin, and Example to name a few. This allowed the band to travel and explore new musical adventures. 

Since then, Kringo has been a full time solo acoustic, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist working with various producers as well as crafting his own songs and production talents. 

As a passionate busker throughout the years, Kringo has had his fair share of unique encounters one of which came from the streets of Worcester where he was approached by Tom Wisniewski and asked to write and record a song with a message about Brexit which Kringo had only 24hrs to complete. This experience lead Kringo to the realisation that songwriting was truly at the forefront of what he wanted from a musical career.
