His sound is a beautiful craft of all the technical aspects that make a Big Room track relevant, he has no fear in showing emotions but at the same time locking key elements essential for the dancefloor. The gang of four that is Selección Natural (@oscarmulero, Reeko and the @exium duo) have a new waxed weapon in their arsenal and as expected, it bites. 

The release date of this record, was supposed to be the celebration of @polegroup's 10th Anniversary with a massive weekend party at Tresor Berlin... but it is not. Things have made a twist and as you may have perceived there is not much to celebrate together, physically, as the label likes celebrations to be done. There will be days to celebrate whenever we can gather together again. In the meanwhile enjoy this slice of vinyl.

Three slices of complex futuristic beats with no mercy. As in previous sound exercises, they have collide in the studio, each one with his preferred tools, recording bites, mutating audios, twisting frequencies, and this is the result: "MG009" is a mechanical tool constructed over a concrete drum architecture, surrounded with bleeps, distorted drones and cutting hi-hats. All the elements come and go wisely creating an obsessive atmosphere.

After a one-year hiatus, Setaoc Mass returns to his own SK11 imprint with fresh double EP pack ‘’Neo-Noir’’.  Drawing on influences from past and present, the productions explore the full spectrum between functional and experimental, moving between the perpetual drive, bleep-laden opener ‘Inferno’ to headier, rolling cuts ‘Technique’ and ’Neo-Noir’, whilst ‘Moon lit Eyes’ taps into more abstracted, IDM related elements with the wilting melodies and refracted drum patterns recalling classic Manchester electronica of Autechre or Bola.  The second disc reverts back to re-fix its floor-focus, opening with the boundless, atmospheric shuffle of ‘Don’t Come Find Me’, followed by the more warped ‘The Trip Commander’ and tense minimalism of ‘Driving In Circles’, whilst ‘Moon Groove’ flaunts a dreamier expanse set within a crisp electro framework.

Setaoc Mass - Neo-Noir [Artaphine Premiere]

Amsterdam based Keith Carnal has in recent years become seen as somewhat of a tastemaker in today’s world of techno. It might not then come as a big surprise to you that he has also become a favoured producer among many who are seen as “techno mainstay”, gaining support from numerous of his own musical inspirations and champions. Carnal, who grew up in a very musical home in the northern part of Holland, found techno at an early age when he began sourcing and selecting on his own. Techno was, and very much is, the first music that made a deep impression on Keith. This feeling only went on to become more cemented after a few years of composing on his own. It simply became clearer and clearer that Carnal is exactly where he belongs.

Keith’s own style of techno always has a strong emphasis on melodies and groove - it is made for dancing no doubt. Often the melody creates a rather ominous feeling for the listener, but with a certain melancholy to it. This is weighed up expertly with Keith focusing on the tracks being driven forward by strong percussion elements. His compositions contain a fresh vibe that immerses his audience as much as it does with his fellow producer and DJ colleagues. 

Carnal’s own productions very much goes hand in hand with the selections he makes as a DJ. A set of Keith’s always focuses on keeping the tempo and the groove up and going. Classic productions are mixed confidently with more current ones. His sets flourish with tracks that are atmospheric and contain strong melodic segments - tracks where percussion and bass play a major part in why being selected. For Keith Carnal creating the right groove is the main target. This year will see Keith releasing several strong productions as well as continuing his extensive international touring schedule, where he is headlining many of the major festivals and clubs. Keith Carnal is a fresh wind in today’s techno climate.
