I Buried Myself

I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul! Whatever gods means that driving force, that small whisper that says keep going in spite of life’s darkness and absurdity. For those who constantly wrestle with darkness, but whose eyes are also open enough to see the light. As it is impossible to know what light is without the experience of darkness. When we’re done with idolatry of self what’s next? Who are we outside of a self identified with acquisition, possession, or people? This record seeks to strike that balance of the in between. Somewhere in the middle between cynicism and being delusional is melancholy, but also the beginning of what it means to be an adult in consciousness.

there’s a wild grace in running through the rain
just you and the sky in full conversation
no masks, no mirrors,
only the rhythm of surrender
not escape,
but the beauty of letting it all fall

your clothes cling like second skin,
your hair forgets its place,
but for once, none of it matters

here, you feel without defense
break open without apology
and surrender completely
to the rhythm
of a fleeting,
fevered now

not all wounds close,
but something opens,
a gentleness
a grace not given,
but discovered

and in that unguarded place,
something shifts
you find a truer rhythm
