DJ Fresh Douggie grew up in a small town located on the southwest shores of Nova Scotia. From an early age he had a keen sense of rhythm and sound. Picking up a guitar for the first time at the age of 4, it was clear that his future would contain musical elements. 

"I first became interested in the art of the Disc Jockey when I saw DJ Jazzy Jeff on Much Music. Of course, that was back when they actually played music and hosted musical artists on the network." (Fresh Douggie)

Along with many other artists, Fresh Douggie admired the talents and skills of DJs and their abilities. He began making his first mix tapes, chopping and mixing using a double cassette deck, technology that has long been replaced with CDs and MP3s.

"I love the challenge of controlling the crowd. Their mood, their energy, their excitement. Watching a crowd anticipate a big build and then see them go wild for a fresh drop is a great feeling that only a DJ can understand. I want to bring happiness to the people that enjoy my sets. Show them that music is alive and well and it is constantly getting better."
