Kellam @ Burning man 2013: Live at TRIFUCTA Party Playground

A cheesy love mix I put together for valentines, tracks both old and new, and open genre, following a thread of heartfelt & inspiring tune that has warm vocally montage of tracks... Mix goes through a variety of deep melodic house to some folk/acoustic tracks... This is a more open genre and light hearted/vocally mix than my norm, but was a fun trip making it and mixing in styles together I dont normally spin out at events/shows... Hope it can be the soundtrack to a sexy valentines for you. Please feel free to download, share, comment, repost mix.

Kellam: SKINNY LOVE - A Mellow Valentine's Groove

In this long over due live mix I had the pleasure of leaning into the theme of the festival, Pynk VINTAGE, and let go of my ego of playing ONLY the best NEW music.  I took the opportunity to weave in and out of some pivotal songs from the last 12+ years of underground house music & techno, blending soundscapes, remixing old classics and weaving in new songs as well.  The entire set I utilized 3 CDJS creating long mixes while moving quickly through songs to keep the flow exciting and utilizing multiple layers to remix the last decade of house music.  I hope you enjoy the journey of the new and the old.

KELLAM: Melodic May 2015 Live @ W Retreat Koh Samui Thailand

For those that are unaware, I was in a terrible accident in August in Thailand following a music event there and have been recovering from that for the past few months. I wanted to put together a mix that was a ride on the mental and emotional roller coaster I have been on... It is raw without post edit.
This mix starts with a beautiful new track from Nico Stojan, aptly called "Blue Hour", and builds into dark brooding driving rhythms. I had been thinking about putting together a mix that could sonically express some of the dark thoughts I have had during the low points of this recovery, and I thought the time leading up to Halloween would be a great time to share this set.  This mix was recorded only in the headphones and no monitors and a pretty even mixture of new and old tracks, including some of the tracks I was looking forward to playing at Burning man this year, which I missed due to the accident... I hope you enjoy it.

Kellam, first got involved with dance music in New York City where he quickly became a fixture in the underground dance music scene and has rapidly gained acclaim internationally. He has most recently taken a role in Thailand at the W Retreat Koh Samui as the W Music Curator and resident DJ where he is programming the events there for 2015 in addition to regular tour dates. He also founded and curates Access Underground in 2015, a mix series on Mixcloud that has already received acclaim and had listeneres listen to over five million minutes on this channel. In the past two years he has shared the decks with many of the top tier DJs and producers including: Matthias Meyer, Max Cooper, Damian Lazarus, Seth Troxler, DJ Tennis, Behrouz, Bedouin, Claptone, Thugfucker, Nico Stojan and many others.

He became entranced with DJing following a funk set he experienced at Burning Man several years ago. He has since become and avid Burner and runs the music curation one of the largest dance music amps on the Playa. He has been invited to play at many of the most popular and respected sound camps such as: Pink Mammoth, Distrikt, The Kasbah, Heart Phoenix, Robot Heart and Trifucta where he shares many incredible line ups. Kellam is also the music director at Camp Trifucta where he books and manages a line up of  ver 70 DJs each year.

Although Kellam has only recently stepped into the arena of the underground dance music scene in the past 5 years, he is no stranger to music. He toured for several years as a singer / songwriter, playing venues such as the famous House of Blues many times, in addition to countless bars, festivals and concert venues across the country. This has served him incredibly well in his transition to being a DJ. He has an truly polished ability to read and feed off the audience and really capture and shape the vibe of where ever he is DJing. This is part of the reason why his popularity amongst crowds and dance floors has exploded. Playing in all kinds of situations has proven useful his ability to read the crowd and build the perfect vibe. He has since taken more international bookings and is being well received everywhere that he shares his talent. His club, warehouse party and afterhours residencies have informed his talent a great deal having regularly played beside some of the worlds best talent.

Free Download: Once Again (Kellam's Spiritual Tech Remix)

This recorded mix is from a recent set I was invited to play in the heart of Brooklyn NYC at a wonderful underground music venue that only a select group of a few hundred people know about.  
The atmosphere was perfect, I played a sunrise set from 5-7am, the crowd was bouncing, the function one system pumping, and the energy just off the charts.  

This event was a "Welcome back" as well as a Birthday celebration.  2015 was a whirlwind for me; my accident in Thailand and subsequent months of recovery, wheel chair and my own physical rehab (once cleared to stand) through dancing and music was all an incredible reminder not to take anything for granted.

With this mix I wanted to blend a world of electronic dance music, techie sounds and organic melodic tonalities. You will notice throughout the mix that the music will articulate back and forth between more electronic deep tech house and back to more organic qualities.  This mix, to me, represents a fresh start for me, as well as a musical metaphor for the transition from winter to spring.   

I hope you enjoy it.  I hope it moves you, and I hope you share this mix link with your friends.

KELLAM:  MARCH 2016 - ElectrOrganic

My May mix is a tribute to a dear friend of mine who has gone to a musical place in the sky.  My beautiful brother had such a wonderful influence on me as a wonderful spirit and as a DJ. I hear his influence on me every time I play earthy, as he coined "Celestial" vibes... In fact yesterday morning before the news, I was I was discussing with another dear friend how we were worried something may have happened to Christian, our friend wondering if he were alright since we hadnt heard from him for a few days... Directly After I recorded a new music mix.... Listening back to it on my flight to Houston I could hear him speaking to me through the music and his profound affect on me, like he was having a conversation with me... His loving and soulful presence is in this mix- I am posting it as a tribute as my May mix.  I hope this musical conversation I had with him speaks to you all as well and helps to center you and guide you through some quite moments in celebration of our brother and Peaceful Warrior, Christian Alexander.   I left a long moment of silence at the end in his honor.

KELLAM: MAY 2016- Mourning Thoughts Of A Peaceful Warrior

With the deep union between psychedelic mystical patterns and solid rhythm layers expressed with the passion of our roots, Diego Angelico Escobar aka Concret started to play, the crowd was ready to celebrate and enjoy this new chapter of the 2016 Mayan Warrior Soundtrack. 
 
Concret is an Italo-Mexican music art project. After founding Trafico Music in Mexico and publishing on German label Toy Tonics/Gomma and London based label Nein, this upcoming year he will come out with a lot of new original work, will present his new live band project and will be touring around the world.

The Anjunadeep Edition 125 With Gab Rhome

It was well into the night when we commenced our search for the Robot Heart Bus. We say search, as the sand storm started earlier in the night had completely covered the desert, making the visibility extremely limited. Since this was our first Burning Man, we weren't well prepared for the fury that nature would bring - our eyes were filled with sand as the shivers of the cold night rolled through our bones. We drove around aimlessly not always knowing whether we're headed in the right direction. All the directional signs were completely covered in sand and any people around us were just as disoriented by the storm while trying to find their own path. 

After a while we noticed a silhouette resembling a glowing heart. As we started moving towards it, there was no doubt that the Robot Heart Bus was in front of us. There really isn't anything like it, and if you haven't seen it before it's not easy to paint its picture with words. Completely covered in speakers and a large flickering heart at the top, the bus stands in the middle of the desert. It's filled with amazing people, who immediately make you feel as if you've known them for a lifetime. 

There are places on earth that are so rapt with special meaning, that from the moment you experience them... the first minute, this unique, magical atmosphere shakes you to your core and settles comfortably into your soul for eternity. For us, Robot Heart at Burning Man is definitely one of those places.
