Giuliano Rodrigues is a renowned Brazilian DJ and music producer, widely recognized for his significant contributions to the Dub Techno genre. Born with an innate passion for music, Giuliano channeled his talent and creativity to craft a unique and captivating sound that deeply resonates with genre enthusiasts.

In 2012, Giuliano founded his first digital label, **Flowing Movement Music**. Through this label, he not only promoted his own music but also elevated the profile of numerous other artists within the genre. His commitment to sonic excellence and dedication to cultivating a vibrant community of Dub Techno producers and fans have solidified his position as a central figure in the music scene.

In 2020, amid the pandemic, he launched **DUBGIU**, followed by **Afterdub** in 2023 and **DUBLUCID** in 2024—all focused on deep tech, deep house, minimal, and, of course, Dub Techno.

Giuliano has also released tracks on **Lucidflow**, a label founded by Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch, also known as Klartraum. The duo has produced remixes of Giuliano’s tracks, showcasing mutual respect and collaboration within the Dub Techno community. Two of Giuliano’s songs were even played at the iconic **Burning Man** festival. Giuliano also had the opportunity to remix Klartraum's track *"Manifestation"*, which has garnered over 60,000 plays on Spotify.

Additionally, Giuliano was featured on the popular YouTube channel **GENTLEMAN**, which boasts over 400,000 subscribers. In a dedicated video, GENTLEMAN selected ten tracks released by Giuliano under DUBGIU and created a one-hour set featuring his music. The channel also added two of his tracks to its top Spotify playlists.

Giuliano’s music portfolio extends to **Superordinate Dub Waves**, founded by Nae:Tek. He has collaborated with Nae:Tek on several tracks, demonstrating his versatility and ability to synergize with other artists. Most recently, Giuliano released new music on **Piranha Siberia Dub**, continuing to contribute fresh and innovative sounds to the Dub Techno scene.

Through these platforms and collaborations, Giuliano Rodrigues continues to solidify his reputation as a prolific and influential figure in Dub Techno, constantly pushing the genre's boundaries and connecting with a global audience.

Digging 80s pop obscurities has long been part of Emotional Rescue’s mission statement and the unearthing of this cover of the Talking Heads classic by the little known, Italian new wave band Politrio for a limited 7” press is a worthy addition.

Formed by guitarist, songwriter and producer Giorgio Canali alongside Massimo Sbaragli and Roberto Zoli for the short-lived project.  With just one album released of new wave, pop rock, it was their contribution to an Amnesty International benefit LP that spawned this excellent version of Byrne, Franz and Weymouth penned classic.   

Coming out of the CBGBs scene of post-punk downtown NYC, the song, released on their aptly titled 1977 “77” debut album, has gone on to become one of the defining songs of it’s time.  Further enhanced with their mesmeric performance in the 1984 Stop Making Sense film and album, it has been ripe for reinterpretation.   

Politrio’s version keeps and captures much of the original, but with their own swing, rhythm, Italian-English vocal delivery, rock guitar, bells and keys.  While remaining instantly recognizable, this is a unique version, with the straightened drumming giving it some added punch and kick.  

This is backed by a systematically cool, delicate but additional re-edit by the Berlin based Italian duo Dama and Budino aka Double Wave.  Rising names in the Berlin scene they are part of the Oscillator collective, label and parties and can be heard at some of the best parties right now.

Letting the instrumental interplay of funky, slap bass and rock guitar have more time to shine, the edit builds and drops, dubs and builds again to the vocals and lyrics known so well, offering an alternative sing-a-long for the more wonky DJs and dancers out there.

B. Psycho Killer (Double Wave Edit)

Venetian born Simone de Kunovich takes the Superconscious sound into refreshingly bizarre territory with his debut 12” Mondo Nuovo Vol. 1. A student of film and the arts, Simone digs deep into archives of the mondo and exploitation genres, sampling obscurities and piecing them together with vintage synthesisers and a modern ear, producing mind-melting psychedelia suitable for late-night hypnotica and introspective home-listening.

From the manic resonance in “Strategia della Tensione” to the blissful atmospheres of “Mondo Segreto”, Mondo Nuovo Vol 1. is an intelligent collage of inspirations that blurs the lines between dance music and cinematic artefacts. A unique experience which sits comfortably amongst the Superconscious back catalogue.

Today's premiere comes to you from Brooklyn's Alien D. The latest release from Lillerne Tapes, Sunday Painting, is a mind-bending journey through pillowy synth textures and kaleidoscopic rhythms. Alien D (aka Stress aka Mr. Aloe) brings a playful approach across the EP. One that is protean in nature from track-to-track, yet shares a common feeling of psychedelic repose.

Our premiere track today off Sunday Painting, "Compassion Track", begins with a contemplative ambient intro that elicits fractalized imagery and gives way to swooshing downtempo grooves. Swirls of color drip down the canvas and begin to pool towards the bottom like a bubbling caldera. The brush strokes begin freeform, and as the piece continues to take shape, become more angular and defined as percussive wisps pitter-patter in the distance. Alien D creates an empathic listening experience that leaves one with a feeling of connectedness to the world around them. It is a track that suits introspective meditative explorations as much as material heartfelt connection to one's fellow being.

Dallas-based producer Jake Shrock continues his obsession with analog hardware on his new release for Seattle's Medical Records. Following his work as part of //TENSE// and a previous release on S U R V I V E’s Holodeck label, Jake crafts seven tracks that blur the lines between komische, new age and wave, realised with his arsenal of vintage synthesisers and drum machines.
