We are absolutely thrilled and honoured to be releasing this epic mini album from longtime label contributor Sonic Jay, as it celebrates the artist's 20 years of professional activity in the scene. Sonic Jay expertly explores the minimal, progressive, hypnotic and subtly psychedelic aspects of the Techgnosis Records aesthetic with masterful ease. Back in 1993 Wolfgang Kaiser a.k.a. Monococ started his career as a producer. He bought himself a Korg 01 / W and after a short time he discovered the world of electronic music and started to get deeper and deeper in to the music.  His first releases were more Trance Music in the early nineties (1996). At the time he named himself “Emperor” . After many more releases he found out that Techno music is his real passion and in 2012 he started producing techno, minimal and techhouse music under his new name “Monococ”  As a deejay he's career includes events in many clubs including appearances at the legendary Disco Airport in Frankfurt the "Dorian Grey". He also played together with legends like Paul van Dyk. The latest step was the partnership with Ben Champell, Patrick Hero and other artists since july 2014. Since then he had releases on labels like PP Music or Undercool Productions.  At 2015 he released a lot of good Tracks on Phunk Traxx, they found access into the playlist from Richie Hawtin and UMEK. I was lucky to be chosen to warm up for Vini Vici in Mauritius for The Great Spirit party by Secret Models. This a post-recorded version of the set I played. A few mistakes but I guess that's what makes us human. Big thanks to the team behind the party as it was very impressive. Big thanks to Pratyush for the continued trust he places in me and for the opportunity to play on the biggest stage of the island.

Premiere: Breger - Shoes Are Gone (Original Mix)

Ken Zo - Born in Mauritius

One of the leading DJs & Producers in Mauritius and pioneering local underground electronic music culture. With nearly 15 years of DJing under his belt, He has been involved in most of the bigger events in Mauritius, and was also co-organiser for events that hosted big names like Grouch, Breger, Evil Oil Man, Merkaba. He was also part of the organisation of E K T A Festival 2015, one of the first 3 day electronic music event hosted in Mauritius.

Usually known for his compositions with a defining take on Psytech, his DJ sets on the other hand exude versatility and he covers many genres from deep house to full on psychedelic trance with all genres in between.

In 2017, he was awarded the Backstage Award for Best DJ. 

He grew up surrounded by music. His mother was his first music teacher going over the basics of piano and singing. His parents enrolled him for violin classes at the age of 7 at the Conservatoire de Musique Francois Mitterrand where he also learnt music theory in french. At the age of 13 he moved on to the Conservatoire de Musique Frederic Chopin where he was trained in piano and music theory in English,

Simultaneously during his teen years, Fabrice experimented with many genres - pop, rock, rnb - and played in many amateur bands and orchestras playing guitar, violin and keys.

He started DJing and producing in 2007 under the alias Mr.Snob playing commercial and progressive house as well as an occasional techno set here and there. The beginning was mostly birthday parties and school fairs with very rare club gigs. His career started picking up around 2011 just when he flew off to Melbourne Australia for his studies. He performed throughout Australia under his knew alias Ken Zo, finding his place within the niche psychedelic community playing fusion sets of techno and psy.
