Excited to be releasing this banger of a SoundCast out to the world. Proudly presenting xXETEXx queen, AKA NINA, who knows all about the sonic lines and patterns of deep psychedelic techno. Whilst representing one of the OG festival crews in xXETEXx, AKA NINA has also been killing the production game, with recent releases on labels such as Digital Structures, Occultech and Soupherb to name a few. 

You can catch her laying down fat chunks around Europe, in Berlin at clubs such as Sisyphos, and hopefully one day we can see her strut her stuff around our festivals in Aus.

We are excited to be featuring the long-awaiting live recording of Ben Rama's hybrid set at Illusion Festival 2022 (Quebec, Canada), where he opened for Perfect Stranger for a very receptive dance floor audience. Expect 90 minutes of intricately mixed and layered psychedelic techno, ranging from deep and progressive to the hypnotic-yet-heavy, accented with some on-the-fly percussive and melodic touches. I am happy to present the recording of my set at the replacement renegade party for Origins Of Entropy 2023 in NSW, Australia after the police busted the festival during set up. Recorded on April 9th 2023.

The crew ended up pulling off the wildest renegade party featuring the most insane line up of locals and internationals including Grouch, Ryanosaurus, Quantaloop, Peter Groskreutz and many more. 

I had the honor of opening the party on the Saturday afternoon!
This set features a fat load of unreleased AlpaKa tracks and a few others fresh psychedelic techno chunkers.

Ken Zo @The Calling - Selectro [April 2019 PsyTech DJ Set]

Ken Zo - Born in Mauritius

One of the leading DJs & Producers in Mauritius and pioneering local underground electronic music culture. With nearly 15 years of DJing under his belt, He has been involved in most of the bigger events in Mauritius, and was also co-organiser for events that hosted big names like Grouch, Breger, Evil Oil Man, Merkaba. He was also part of the organisation of E K T A Festival 2015, one of the first 3 day electronic music event hosted in Mauritius.

Usually known for his compositions with a defining take on Psytech, his DJ sets on the other hand exude versatility and he covers many genres from deep house to full on psychedelic trance with all genres in between.

In 2017, he was awarded the Backstage Award for Best DJ. 

He grew up surrounded by music. His mother was his first music teacher going over the basics of piano and singing. His parents enrolled him for violin classes at the age of 7 at the Conservatoire de Musique Francois Mitterrand where he also learnt music theory in french. At the age of 13 he moved on to the Conservatoire de Musique Frederic Chopin where he was trained in piano and music theory in English,

Simultaneously during his teen years, Fabrice experimented with many genres - pop, rock, rnb - and played in many amateur bands and orchestras playing guitar, violin and keys.

He started DJing and producing in 2007 under the alias Mr.Snob playing commercial and progressive house as well as an occasional techno set here and there. The beginning was mostly birthday parties and school fairs with very rare club gigs. His career started picking up around 2011 just when he flew off to Melbourne Australia for his studies. He performed throughout Australia under his knew alias Ken Zo, finding his place within the niche psychedelic community playing fusion sets of techno and psy.
