It is with sadness in saying that one of our legendary Chicago House Acid artist & producer Sleezy D (Derrick Harris)passed away on June 13, 2019. I learned this news via a Facebook post by his longtime brother and collaborator, Marshall Jefferson.

He is just one of few early Chicago House artists along with Marshall Jefferson, Chip E & Armando for example who created music that has MORE than stood the test of time and that is STILL rocked today and STILL gets a HUGE reaction from the dancefloor. His "I've Lost Control" release from 1986 was ahead of its time and beat the Acid House rush by a whole year at least. In my mind, this track was the first time I heard the sounds of a Roland 303 in a House track....I didn't know what it was but it was insane coming out of some Cerwin Vega stacks at a club. There has not been one year that I have not dropped that record since it came out....and yes, I still have the copy I picked up at Gramaphone Records in Chicago back in 86...its the one I used for this edit....I remember waiting months for that sucker to be released! I made this edit back in 2011 and I did not add any new extra sounds or elements....just a straight raw edit. I must mention that some years later after making it, I sent it to Derrick and instead of getting mad he said thank you. Class. I am posting this edit in an effort to have this great track reach every corner of the world and we will be able to  say that Derrick "Sleezy D" Harris will still continue to reach many people beyond the walls of Chicago.
