THE RAVEN
The dark bird caws an aching creak, jarring
high in the branches of my twisted hazel

Light drips thickly - like warm blood or hot metal -
from the anvil angles of its beak, cuts short
breeze, divides still water, and settles
deep in the silence of the little pond beneath

It is not the tawdry light of the mind
where still limbs, still torso, still breath pull close -
become justified - where truth is vulnerable to age

Nor is it the light of secret gardens, of mists
unsettling and godless clarity eclipsing everything

An illusive bat mapping shady new worlds
by shriek and wail.  The old owl's careful murders
These fears swoop in the cool of night

But this raven comes with the light.  Hopping and strutting
Gently tip tap tapping.  Its black glint encumbering
ornamental cherry trees, beach and oaks with ease

And it brings the white-hot light of fear.  The clarity of danger
The fat weight of doubt that lingers near
The crack in peace.  The spark of both death and change

Yet In the shallow end she took a shine to me
Then as she coaxed me to discard my water wings
I practiced breast stroke while she dreamt of wedding rings
Though me and Phyllis surely lacked a chemistry
She warned you can’t deny destiny

She said for me she’d swim the reservoir of ice
I said no need for that, I suggested she think twice
But to prove love she said who dares wins
She stuck a pose I swear, flexing dorsal fins
Though our doomed love swam against the tide
Phylis swore she’d be my bride

Then came the day when we all gathered by the icy lake
She cried I’m swimming this for you and for our love’s sake
And people patted me on the back and hollered, how they cheered
Until she disappeared 
Poor Phyllis lost for eternity

Currently a work in progress that began in November of 2017, this upcoming album will be my first video game remix album. Majora's Mask has such a great original soundtrack and I've had a lot of fun working on this, though getting everything exactly right has been time consuming. The expanse appears Orderly at a a distance, yet when super magnified, we observe a chaotic field of energy, all the while, we feel alone and insignificant, yet somehow at peace, knowing the infinite intelligence of the Multi-Verse we live,  is just a Sea of Polar opposites, with infinite randomness and with magical purpose.  Just pure Math...

Bike Trip

Been making music since I was a kid (tracks towards the bottom date as far back as 2002). I like to mess around with many different styles and moods. I play the piano, trumpet, drums, and a few other instruments. Always down for collaborations & trying to improve.
