This talk includes an overview of each of the four limitless qualities: love, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity, and an explanation of the four lines of the four limitless qualities chant. One of the key points to developing a connection to each of these qualities is training in relaxing with uncertainty, anxiety, unpredictability, and groundlessness. Another is trusting in the good heart, the buddha nature, of all beings. Such trust develops through inquisitiveness and honesty, especially with respect to our frailties, prejudices, and limitations. Four equanimity practices are introduced.

Tonglen practice is a method for connecting with suffering – our own and that which is all around us, everywhere we go. It is a method for overcoming our fear of suffering and for dissolving the tightness of our hearts. Primarily, it is a method for awakening the compassion that is inherent in all of us. This talk by Pema Chödrön consists of the basic tonglen instructions and guided tonglen practice, given in 1998 at the San Francisco Zen Center.

These songs have been sung for several years now, in clubs, bars, living rooms, comic book shops, cafes, backyards, weddings, hotel rooms and National Parks. They've been played with various players, at varying tempos. These 8 songs make up "Sunshine National Dust"  -- my second 'proper album', if you don't count the several more low-key collections put out in the years since "Songs" (which was released in 2006 on the now-defunct Recorded Sound label). 

This late-night solo meditation (rehash?) was recorded with sincere thanks to all who have played with me over the past couple of years. Jef Hogan, Willard Matthews, Phoebe Parros, David Marmor, J. Darby Warren, Cameron Squire, Melora Marshall (who also supplied the guitar), Becca Fuchs, Jamie Grime, Trevor Beld, Bill Fiorella, Amanda Jo Williams, Evan apRoberts, Emily Groendyke and Chris Jones. I'm grateful to everyone for playing, mixing, mastering, harmonizing.

Kevin Sport is a working musician in Steamboat Springs, CO via NYC.  He is an "all-rounder" percussionist/drummer/multi-instrumentalist/producer and specializes in the Turkish split hand technique for darbuka.  He also plays piano and whatever else he can get his hands on.
