I decided to sequence the battle theme from Wizardry, since I always say how under appreciated this soundtrack is.

I've been struggling with how the three devices in my synth setup (Korg Volca Keys, Yamaha Reface DX, Roland Sound Canvas SC-88) all sound wildly different; which makes it hard to have a cohesive sound.  So I decided for this one to just have fun with the contrast of having an analog monosynth paired with FM Brass and sample based strings.

Wizardry - Battle

This one came together pretty quickly, which is nice after last week's track.  I was a little worried that an SNES track would have too many different instruments for my sequencer to handle, but I was able to contain the whole thing to four tracks, which is great.  

I can't believe it's taken this long for me to do a Final Fantasy IV/II track.  This is one of my favorite overall boss battle themes from the entire Final Fantasy series, so I had to do this.  I was toying with the idea of turning it into a medley, and starting with the Calcabrina theme; I still might do that a little later, maybe next week, who knows.

This is an arrangement of the capital (?) theme from SimCity's unreleased NES version. I heard the original tune in a prototype showcase video from MAGFest and instantly fell in love with it. I tried to incorporate the original sounds while also building on it, but I had to make the ending up a bit - unfortunately the song doesn't completely loop in the footage as it's either interrupted by the alert tune or the player fast forwards the emulator. I really, really hope we'll be able to hear the full tracks someday!
