For a more dense rhythm section I needed agility on bass line so this time, instead of the double bass, I chose to use my old dear electric bass, an old Cort that's been with me since high school. I haven’t played it for a long time, it’s been fun, I think I will do it again soon.
About the picture: actually the place of the photo is not a station or an airport, it is part of a photographic work I made some years ago on the concept of non-place like the big malls. But a non-place is also, some way, an all-places, every places from which to leave or arrive...
The real truth is that I've always liked this photo, for the perspective plane and because it's full of lines with variety of lights and shadows... In short, I couldn't wait to find an excuse to use it :)

As the the name suggests, me and Cecilia have collabed with this song before (I think this vocal was the first one I collabed with Cecilia and I think it may have been the first collab I made on SoundCloud). This song began when Joe, feeling a bit nostalgic, wrote the lyrics and composed it on his acoustic guitar. He recorded it and sang it with expert harmonies, then decided to share it with Eclectic Collective. We were all very excited to get work on our second song with Joe, as we all admire his songwriting.
First up was Tez this time, oddly enough. He was able to identify all the fill spots and light up the solo without the rest of us even adding anything yet. Next came Ken, who usually goes first, adding his steady grooving drums and tasty percussion. Once the drums were down, Josh completed the rhythm section by adding his fretted bass. He also worked out an organ part to give the whole sound a bit of thickness. Also adding some thickness and texture, Stephen added a clean electric rhythm part, as well.
Once we had it in can we asked Stephen to mix and produce it for us, which he did in his always expert fashion.
This, as mentioned, is Eclectic Collective's second song with Joe, and we all enjoyed bringing it to life with him. He's a wonderful collaborator and an all around good dude.
