CYRIL
Setting a benchmark with his late 2023 hit “Stumblin’ In,” Australian DJ/producer CYRIL has surely come a long, illustrious way. His story is defined by various highs and lows, though always with music as a common thread throughout all his tribulations. Now, having survived the most daring events of his life, CYRIL is more decisive than ever, freshly signed to Spinnin’ Records and eager to excell with a much anticipated string of new releases. He’s still got his best tunes ready to drop; stay tuned for this seasoned aussie to overwhelm the scene. 
Born and raised in the countryside of New South Wales in Australia, young Cyril Riley got hooked on music when only 2-years old, exploring instruments like (bass) guitar, piano and drums. Once a teenager, this love had only increased, causing him to move to the big city, learning the skills of DJ’ing and music production as well as the business side of clubs and festivals.
While pursuing a DJ career in the New South Wales area, though, Cyril hit several setbacks, caused by heartbreak and financial problems. One thing led to another, and soon enough he found himself hooked on a serious substance addiction, crashing his car and losing his home, forcing him to sleep in friends’ houses or in the club where he had his residency.
While going through these traumatic events, Cyril kept making music with just about his only possessions left: a laptop, usb and guitar. Safe to say, music kept him going this period, until he reached the ultimate lowpoint in 2018, when he almost overdosed.
As Cyril says, this moment was ‘the biggest wake up call of my life.’ He made his way back to his home town, managed to clean himself up completely, and after a few months started making music again.
Enter CYRIL, the DJ/producer who’s been making waves until this day. Building a resume since 2021 with several headstrong, inventive electronic tunes, he’s conquered some of his past ordeals with songs like “Lucid Dreams” and “Strong,” culminating in the late 2023 release “Stumblin’ In,” revamping the 1978 pop tune into a sun drenched deep house gem.
It proved a major breakthrough for CYRIL. Kickstarted by a TikTok video that amassed an incredible 3.3 million views, 156k comments and 37.3k saves, things started rolling for CYRIL, culminating in the Bayern Munich football team posting a video featuring the track, while thousands of other people hopped on a jamming trend using the track in their content. 

By now, CYRIL is stronger than ever. Having learned from his experiences, he’s returned to the music scene, living and working in Darwin these days, where he initially had a DJ residency and job as promotions manager at a local club, but has progressed into running another club as venue manager, while doing bookings for another.
In the meantime, he got schooled in music theory at Charles Darwin University, perfected his production skills, moved around to different clubs, and performed some huge shows around the country. 
It’s all come together, he acknowledges, especially with the success of “Stumblin’ In” and the deal he recently signed with Spinnin’ Records. It’s time for the rest of the world to meet CYRIL and the uplifting sounds he’s ready to share. Expect a burst of positive energy and life experience in every tune he drops, coming soon as 2024 unfolds. 
It’s a journey worth joining him on, as this Australian artist is sure to surprise us all with his strong and remarkable return to shape - his story has only just begun.

A Sheriff once labeled me as "The Reverend of the Rave" little did he know I liked it so I've used it...lol....but really I've been in the scene since the summer of 1999 and I've even have had events at my property in Lancaster, I love to Rave.....I live in Canyon Country, CA in the USA...I've been producing music since 2000... I'm kind of old school I use an old P4 computer and Sony's Acid Music Studio 5.0 and a truck load of loops...I perfected my craft a bit since I've started I do mainly two genres, Dark Ambient and Epic Dark Electronica....I play around with Trance, DnB and a few other genres but I only have a few good tunes of these genres.... oh yeah I almost forgot, when I do my music it's under the name of "Rev. JoE's Chill Factor" but sometimes when I'm spinning my name on the fliers is just, "Chill Factor"...

How Did I Get My Name?
well this is a unique story, one day in 1998 I received a letter in the mail (snail mail) that told me that this particular religious outfit, "The Order Of The Holy Spirit" had chosen me to be ordained.  at first I thought of it as a joke (it turn out that they wanted me to buy their preaching materials, books learning and teaching paraphernalia, etc.) so my father and I would joke around, he would call me Reverend Joe, and then I got into the scene, the Rave scene to be exact, and low and behold Rev. JoE stuck to me like glue so that's how I got the name for me and as time went by I got a computer and began making music using loops and snippets of sounds and quotes etc. at first I tried to make tunes like I love to listen to, Trance, Techno, Etc. and found it very hard to do then while collecting loops I discovered the Dark Moody Sounds that can move your soul and started creating Ambient Music. I found I have a unique talent for mixing these sounds to make some very good Epic Dark Ambient Music.  then one day while walking in my neighborhood there on the ground I found a button (pin) that said, "Chill Factor" and like a kick in the head it came to me, Rev. JoE's Chill Factor..(or just Chill Factor as it appears on fliers, etc.) so there you have it...

Do You Have A Favorite Moment?
I spin at Rave Events (DJing my music, although I don't really "mix" or anything,  that’s a whole other art form… I just play the songs and try to keep the people happy) after a few years of creating I began making Epic Dark Electronica (to classify my music that has beat, Electronica allows me the room to do so) at one party where I spun the Electronica instead of my Ambient suddenly there on the dance floor people were dancing and grooving to my music..and it was like being high, having those kids moving to my beats was just awesome..(fav. moment)

Where Do I Play My Music, Venues etc.?
Well I’ve made a lot of friends in the scene like event producers, promoter and performer (DJs) and with their influence and support like Jonathan Morning one of the best DJ/Producers in L A, he has helped me do events in the desert and downtown as well… and Philippe from Neo Sapiens Music who has booked me my first show back in 2003 (I believe??) anyway I also host events at my property in Lancaster CA, USA….however I don’t perform “Live” per say I just play my music, although I don't really "mix" or anything,  that’s a whole other art form all together and I have enormous respect for what they do..

Who or what are your musical influences?

my Dad, he's a record collector from way back and once his collection was over 20,000 strong, no lie...and growing up I've been exposed to almost every genre there is...when I was just a lad I heard Led Zeppelin II for the first time and I loved it, most of the stuff before was Beatles,  Elvis, Surf music 60's rock (not counting the Acid Rock for that era, that came later) but the L Z showed me to the world of spacey and that world of so to be Electronic Music..in high school I was introduced to David Bowie at first I did like him cause he was a flamboyant homo, (I'd use the "F" word to describe him) then a friend said "oh yeah listen to this.." he put on Width Of A Circle, the song about is first homosexual experience and I was floored that tune was great been a big fan ever since...now to list all the music and artist that have had an influence on me, I'd be typing til I dropped dead...(you get the Idea)   

What Drives Me
cool yea if it wasn't for this computer and my software and all the loops I'd never have seen my musical ambitions come to life,  then all the time I put into my music now it's everything to me, it's my life I'm disabled with more problems than I care to say then there's the cancer thing and so I don't really know just how long I'll be here on planet earth but I'm going to do my very best to enjoy the time I have left and music, my music, makes it worth the battle if you can relate or not it doesn't matter only the life that surrounds my music, the parties the people everything.. one day it’ll be gone and maybe I influenced enough people that I’ll become immortal in the hearts of the people I’ve touched…
