Hum Drums

Former street musician from San Francisco, Eric Van der Wyk is a multi-instrumentalist living in San Diego.  He plays banjo, guitar, hand percussion and Tenori-On and MPC.  Eric's company "King Tet Productions" offers professional audio restoration services online for vinyl, reel to reel, cassette and video conversion services.

Briefly, I taught myself to play guitar and began writing songs about my family. Then I started adding neighbors. I met Otis Roy and he introduced me to the real Jimmie Rogers and a bunch of musicians who sixty years later were singing his songs. I began backing Otis and we performed in fairs and festivals all over Souther California, Cable TV, Radio. Then I met Bob Shreves in a park and I was now writing more country tunes. He said I go into recording. I told him I didn't know a thing about it. We recorded four songs and my first time on stage was in front of 2,000 people at the Orange Co, Cowboy Club. Bob got a band together of great musicans and we became a popular country band in a rock hard area.
