When I first played professionally, it was in my dad's quartet.  We played back in the 60's when people still danced ballroom style.  We invariably got a request for a "Peabody."  This medley was my dad's choice and the high energy has stuck with me all these years.  I finally got around to writing this big band arrangement of these two tunes written by two of the greatest modern day composers, Richard Rodgers and Cole Porter.

This is my uptempo big band version of Steve Allen's "Start of Something Big."  I had fun throwing in 6/8 march time amid the swinging 4/4 time signature.  It's hard-charging from the get-go!
