Athlete Whippet returned to Balamii, inviting fellow Toy Tonics family members COEO for a two hour journey through the uplifting side of dance music, including bits from their upcoming record.

After a 5 year hiatus, Tel Aviv based artist Naduve, returns to Cocktail d’Amore Music with Hypogeum. Each of these tracks facilitates its own special part in the life of party. Starting off on a hypnotic and forward driven note Echo Wave Bay leads dancers perfectly into hypnosis with its trance inducing melodies which wave upward and downward. Title track Hypogeum begins to pull on the heart strings with its soft synths floating over pastel textures before giving way to the aptly titled FX Jungle, a deep trip into the low lying canopies of your imagination. Ending where we began Thursday Gem explores the same cyclical themes as Echo Wave but in a subdued fashion making it a perfect choice for winding down any raucous party.

Sex Tapes From Mars second outing into space comes from 28-year-old Parisian, Muelsa, delivering four high-octane club thrillers.

A1 - 'Across The Pampa' is spacious in old school lighting, relying on a deep-set rapidly shifting bassline and carnivalesque sample twangs to lift it to a melodic yet high-energy EP starter. This is the kind of track the could as easily be the last and first record at a party.

'Wild Nights' brings what it states in the title; grizzly low end, tinkering upper keys that shimmer psychedelic. The notes that the first breakdown brings paired with that vintage vocoder will give even the most stush raver goosebumps.

On the flip, 'No Joke (G-Knews Mix)' despite the playful sampling perhaps brings the deepest, if not certainly freakiest cut on the record. It combines elements of NY house with rolling nu-school acid and arduous, bumpy drum work.

To close things off, 'Pretty Little Monsters', further bends b-lines and star-line synth twinkles with a maliciously satisfactory attack on the senses. There are cinematic squeals at nearly every frequency, making for a full-bodied finale to a very well rounded second release on this exciting new label.

Muelsa - Infinite Journey (SEXTAPE002)

For our 10th release and 5th anniversary, we've involved some good friends of the label whose work we greatly admire.

Greco-German power couple Local Suicide has teamed up with kindred spirit Skelesys to deliver two killer original tracks for the 'No Evidence' EP.

The title track, inspired by old detective novels, blends Local Suicide's signature dark and moody sound with Skelesys' haunting melodies and subtle grooves.

'Weird Encounters' conjures up heavy Berlin vibes (no coincidence, as all three musicians currently make the city their home), taking the listener on a girl's disorienting journey while lost at a party.

'No Evidence' gets the remix treatment from both Intergalactic Gary (Viewlexx), interpreting it as a hypnotic future classic EBM version, and Samo head honcho Facets, who offers a high-energy, arpeggiated take on the original. Anatolian Weapons (Beats in Space) deconstructs 'Weird Encounters' and transforms it into a full-on rave machine.

No Evidence is out March 4th on limited vinyl and digital.

The North of England is known for its musical prowess. Middlesbrough born Rees taps into that musical history while diving deep into lost disco, obscure wave and even the Middle East for his debut for Bordello. Three Eyes is a melting pot. Setting sail on bold beats and rumbling synthlines, Rees steers the listener through cascading chords, shimmering key shifts and serenading sirens to produce a truly unique dancefloor experience. Tjade, of Koi Jaye fame, is on remix duty. The winning formula of the original is adhered to with adjustments and ablutions guiding this interpretation. BPMs rise to give a fresh burst of energy. This time an EP with the italo-french duo A Tweed & Kubebe called “The Garden” a psychedelic journey filled with raw and honest sounds with two remixes, one acidic beauty by the Japanese producer Akio Nagase and a “Reggae-Trón remix” (as he called this one) by Fabio Me Llaman Soltero.

Azole project hides 2 new and exciting fellas from Moscow. And their offering feels more like a complete album than just a regular EP.
Mr. Sutherland EP is an allusion to a famous Australian keyboard virtuoso with the same surname and even though keyboard solos might not be that lavish and jazzy when compared to their counterpart, they are definitely there and will take you for a dreamy ride in outer space.
Most of the track names in the album are organic and refer to the living world, so we hope that while listening to these compositions you will feel how intricately everything is interlinked not only here on planet Earth, but also in all vastness of the universe. Enjoy the trip!

Over the three decades that I knew him I was a fan, a friend and eventually partner in A Love From Outer Space. The body of work he left behind runs into many, many hundreds of tracks and covers just about every musical genre known to humanity,  (which of course reflects his relentless creative curiosity and spirit). I decided in the end not to overthink it, and just to roll with a concoction of my favourites, and, as Andrew would have said, tried not to make the joins too obvious..."

I've thought long and I hard about sharing this recording, Andrew and spoke about putting it up before he died, but I haven't been able to bring myself to share until now. At the time it was probably the biggest gig of my career. It felt monumental doing to 6000 people on that ship, Thanks to Annie and Rob for putting us on. It's funny because I still revisit the playlist I made for this gig now and so many of these records still haven't left my bag.

Today it is 2 years since Andrew passed, thankyou for the music and all the support dear friend.

I was straight out of the plane coming from Mexico. Sleep fused with insomnia, body found it hard to adapt to the snowy streets of Vilnius.

Deep down in South America the digital world was barely accessed because internet connection just does not seem to exist. If it is somehow discovered it works with such velocity not comprehensible to anyone's sanity. Relationship with music took quite an interesting turn. Mexican artists playing on the streets or at local bars became my accidental, go-to tuneage. And it is all fine. Distancing yourself every once in a while and giving rest to your body and mind makes wonders. I came back physically and mentally refreshed.

Latest Insurance Against a Great Thirst episode has two sides to it. Side A is soothing and wavy whilst side B is hard hitting and dance floor filling. Sincerely love this episode, it shows how much I missed electronic rhythms.

Also, check out the logo of the radio show which was drawn by dear friend Nikolay from Olta Karawane. Massive gratitude to him. Expect some merch.

Back in the 80's, they beamed up UB40 over Birmingham and probed them for a few hours. They where able to extract the soft pop classic "Dont break my heart", and they have injected it with a high tech future house formula's ever since.

OpenLab Selectors comes back to the airwaves with a fresh new guest mix by Chaiba. Under this pseudonym, Sebastian Looijenga has been vigorously working on a foundation, laying the groundwork for what can only be a very promising and flourishing career in music. Looijenga is an integral player in a new generation of House music DJ’s who play house in the most extensive form of the word. Not alarmed at making an occasional venture into the world of Vogue or ’80s, Chaiba operates throughout the thrilling nightlife of Rotterdam, and also hosts a monthly show on Operator radio and has his own club night at Mono in Rotterdam, both under the name Dance Therapy.

Alex ‘Kiwi’ Warren’s passion for music has been a fire that has long burned within. From humble beginnings as an in-house photographer for the world-famous DURRR club-night, started by Erol Alkan’s much celebrated Trash team, to the runaway success of his own club nights, it’s his prolific productions and genre blending extended dj sets that are now catapulting him into the spotlight .
Warren’s success as a one-man promotions company, cultivating his ever popular club-night, Orlando Boom and its disco-focussed sister night, Kate Boss, caught the attention of The Columbo Group who swiftly appointed him as their booking and promotions manager for The Nest.

Kiwi soon realised that he had more to offer than just his promoter skills and he began to channel his energy into playing and creating music. Releases on Days of Being Wild, Jack Savidge and Edwin Congreave’s highly acclaimed Deep Shit, DFTD, Optimo, Moda Black, Sneaky Music and Virgin EMI followed, and in 2015, his track Short Tail was nominated for Song Of The Year at the DJ Mag Best Of British awards. He’s produced an abundance of remixes for high-profile artists such as; Who Made Who, Locassolus, Paramida, Is Tropical, The Klaxons and more. This incredible output has earned him a wealth of support from some of the scenes biggest names including; Andrew Weatherall, DJ Harvey, Gerd Janson, Daniel Avery, Erol Alkan, Optimo, Rob da Bank, Annie Mac and Skream.

2017 saw the release of his Orca EP on Bristol’s Futureboogie imprint with the title track receiving rave reviews in Mixmag and topping the dance charts on Juno and Beatport for seven weeks. This was swiftly followed by releases on Dusky’s 17 steps, and a vinyl-only release alongside Joakim on DJ Tennis’ Life and Death. As well as being busy in the studio, Kiwi has also been out on the road touring Asia twice, North America and Europe. Add to that a packed festival season and holding down his residency at XOYO in London, Kiwi has carved out a name for himself with his all night long DJ sets that effortlessly blend balearic, disco, house, Detroit techno and everything in between.

2018 was a big one for the DJ Mag nominee, with a string of releases gaining notoriety on the likes of Moscoman’s Disco Halal and a new one for 17 Steps, as well as a return to Correspondent and releases on Cin Cin and Needwant to come.

2019 marked a pivotal milestone in Alex’s career. In April, he launched his brand new imprint Crossbreed, with the inaugural CRBD01 released in conjunction with Italy’s finest export DJ Rocca. The ethos of the label is the notion that working together breeds great things, and it is not hard to see this belief in the debut EP.

Having made a strong start with the first three collaborative releases, the label continues into 2020 as a mouthpiece to showcase records that represent Alex’s ideas; and with a knack for selecting off-kilter, leftfield releases, Crossbreed is set to make impressive waves within the electronic music scene.
