As the mastermind behind Planet E Communications, Carl created a platform that has supported an array of international artists for 30 years, releasing records that span hip-hop, jazz, funk, and esoteric electronic sounds while avoiding commercial conventions.

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Ramiro began his journey in music at an early age and for the last few years he has been exploring the world of music production and seeking for his own sound.

Ramiro pushes the limits transporting the audience to an unknown environment with hypnotic melodies and spellbound grooves. His music allows to set yourself in the middle of nowhere but in the center of everything, feeling the sounds deep in your soul, connecting with nature and your surroundings. 

Each encounter is turned into a unique moment. A convergence of eclectic, smooth sounds with strong grooves. Ancient melodies mixed with modern electronic sounds and a hint of progressive vibes can be found on his sets.

Platinum-selling recording artist, label boss, festival promoter, true innovator in the pantheon of popular music, cultural champion, cracking DJ: there’s a lot to be said about Kevin Saunderson.

His influence runs deep, through both adopted hometown of Detroit, and music culture as a whole: as one of the Belleville Three, the high school trio which also includes Juan Atkins and Derrick May, he irreparably changed the face of electronic music; with Inner City, he gave it some of its most memorable tunes. 

The genesis of today’s enormous techno scene can be retraced straight to Kevin, Derrick and Juan, as their formative experiments on rudimentary hardware sketched a blueprint for a genre that was yet to exist. By absorbing Kraftwerk, cutting-edge funk, local radio stalwart The Electrifying Mojo’s electicism, and all manner of new synthesiser and drum machine-led pop music, the Belleville Three broke new ground as musicians and DJs in the 80s. 

Saunderson’s comparatively late start as a producer – kicking off in ’87 under the moniker of Kreem, with E-Dancer and Reese two of the more well-known names to follow – inadvertently gifted him a headstart. With the eruption of house music a few hours down the I-94 in Chicago, Saunderson married Detroit’s raw sound to more tactile, pop-leaning sensibilities. Inner City was born, and global success followed.

Between “Big Fun”, “Good Life”, debut album Paradise and a number of follow-up singles, Inner City (Saunderson and vocalist Paris Grey) amassed 12 UK top 40 hits and over six million records sold worldwide during their peak. A dancefloor-dominating remix by Luciano in 2008, and a globetrotting reunion tour in 2012, underscores the longevity of Inner City’s classic sound. 

His nickname of ‘The Elevator’ is apt: for his role in transporting Detroit’s new sound to a wider audience; as anyone who has seen him perform live can attest, his high-energy, high-spirit and high-impact DJ sets; and for spending the past 35 years of his life progressing the culture he helped create. 

Operating in tandem to his golden run as a producer in the late 80s and early 90s, Saunderson’s own KMS record label – a remarkable 30 years strong in 2017 – has chronicled the early footsteps of R-Tyme, Blake Baxter, MK, Chez Damier, Derrick Carter, Bicep and even Saunderson’s son and regular DJ partner Dantiez more recently. 

A special 12” series in 2008 called History Elevate, released in tandem with fellow polymath Carl Craig’s Planet E label, brought contemporary names like Mathew Jonson, Simian Mobile Disco and Loco Dice into the fold, proving his nous for fostering relationships with each new wave to come through techno’s gates. 25th anniversary compilations and numerous reissues have followed suit. 

Saunderson has a behind-the-scenes role to play, too: he is intertwined with the history of Detroit’s flagship Movement (formerly Detroit Electronic Music Festival / Fuse-In). Having produced the event in the mid-2000s, the last handful of years have seen repeated invites from Movement to display his ORIGINS showcase at the festival, bringing acts like Delano Smith, Phuture and DJ Minx under his curatorial umbrella. 

And of course, with a stacked international touring schedule over the decades, playing in nearly every country and at nearly every festival or club worth mention, he has not stopped pushing the feeling of techno on and on. 

The Groove That Won’t Stop, indeed.

Dance Spirit is a duo dedicated to the attainment of subconscious harmony through rhythm, timbre, melody and movement. Based in Los Angeles, they’ve forged these elements into a vehicle of positive change through the medium of live electronic music.

Esoteric as it may sound, their philosophy has yielded achievements of substance. Championed by such respected labels as Get Physical Music, Crosstown Rebels and Bedrock Music, they have made a lasting mark on the global dance music landscape. Their all-original live sets have garnered them worldwide renown, but somehow the years to come look to be the brightest yet.

The seeds that would eventually grow into Dance Spirit were sown when Christopher Mohn befriended Reagan Denius owing to their shared love of progressive house. The former musician was born in Durango, Colorado and the latter in Austin, Texas - but they both grew up in Southern California and met in 2006 while working together for San Diego promoter Realivze Tribe. After shelving a previous techno project, Mohn and Denius debuted Dance Spirit live on The Rooftop of The Standard Downtown LA during a 2011 installment of Harmonic’s Bask event series.

2013 marked a major turning point for the duo. Between sharing the stage with Mr. C at underground warehouse parties and getting their Manifest EP signed to Audiofly’s Supernature imprint, they began to cultivate an international fan base. By the end of the year they had landed a residency with the Flying Circus event series at Sankeys Ibiza, and 2014 saw them tour throughout the U.S. and Mexico.

In addition to the SacBe industry parties in Tulum, a Superfreq label showcase at Fabric London, and Katerblau in Berlin, Dance Spirit has brought their improvisational brand of house music to nightclubs like The Great Northern, Public Works and Monarch in San Francisco as well as holding down a residency at Do Not Sit On The Furniture in Miami. As far as festivals are concerned, their résumé includes performances at such staples as Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Lightning In A Bottle and Piknic Electronik Barcelona as well as Burning Man sound camps like Music Savages, Pink Mammoth and Robot Heart.

Meanwhile, Dance Spirit’s tireless work ethic in the studio has earned them releases on countless world-class house and techno labels. Among the highlights of their discography is their 2014 effort Take In The Night EP on Superfreq and a collaborative EP with Audiofly titled Angel Eyes that arrived by way of Mobilee Records in 2016. The latter year they also teamed up with David Scuba on an EP titled Dust that came out on Desert Hearts Records, and released the Drowning In Irises EP on Rebellion.

2017 saw the duo debut on Bedrock Records with a three-tracker called the Thoughts Like Stars EP among other releases. In the summer of 2018 they released the two-track EP Space Portal to the Heavens on Get Physical Music after collaborating with Cari Golden on the Wash Me Clean EP via Lee Burridge and Hoj’s Tale + Tone imprint.

By incorporating analog drum machines, synthesizers live vocals into their engaging performances, Dance Spirit craft mesmerizing progressive house soundscapes with subtle hints of ambient and minimal techno. Publications like Thump, Mixmag and Attack Magazine have published features on the duo, and they’ve contributed guest mixes for such iconic series as Get Physical Radio and Transitions with John Digweed. As big as their audience has grown, their vision has remained the same: to be a beacon of light on otherwise dark dance floors.

For the foreseeable future, Dance Spirit have solidified their role as a permanent fixture in the world of underground electronic music. As always, they’re content to let the music speak for itself.

Klauss is an Argentine band led by Ernesto Romeo (synthesizers, keyboards, sequencers, processors and electronic instruments), Francisco Nicosia (synthesizers, keyboards and sequencers), Lucas Romeo (electric guitar, synthesizers, processors and electronic instruments) and Pablo Gil (drum machines, synthesizers, processors and electronic instruments). It was founded in 1988 as a group where the different languages of electronic, electro-acoustic and progressive contemporary music could be developed. Klauss combines minimalist sequences, dance rhythms and impressionist harmonies with free forms, noise and atonality, creating dreamlike environments and symphonic textures in a space open to experimentation and improvisation. Also remarkable is the powerful use of the analogue and digital electronic equipment they unfold during the concerts, an unusual and complex instrumentation which results in a unique experience each time they play.
Since 1991 Klauss has been playing on the main stages of Buenos Aires, apart from many other uncommon places. Among the first are: Centro Cultural Recoleta, Ciudad Cultural Konex, Teatro Municipal General San Martín, Centro Cultural Kirchner, Palacio Alsina, El Cubo Theatre, Museum of Modern Art, Niceto, La Usina del Arte, La Trastienda, Casa Nacional Del Bicentenario, Centro Cultural de la Cooperación, Espacio Cultural Babilonia, Centro Cultural General San Martín, Centro Cultural De La Ciencia, Club Cultural Matienzo, El Vitral Theatre, Universidad Nacional de Gral. Sarmiento; and other cities like Córdoba, La Plata and Rosario and Madrid, New York, Montevideo, Barcelona, Pretoria and Bogotá. They have also participated in festivals such as Mutek, Buenos Aires Hot Festival, Sónar+D, PUMA Urban Festival, Unlock ArtLab, Habitats Festival (Brooklyn Lyceum, New York, USA.), Creamfields, Panorámica, Zyklus, Trance To Help, Búsquedas Sonoras, BAFIM, Festival Tsonami, Festival Bipolar (Gruta 77, Madrid, Spain), South American Music Conference-Buenos Aires SAMC, Código País, Primer Encuentro Latinoamericano de Sonidos Electrónicos e Industriales (Teatro Municipal Jorge Elieçer Gaitán, Bogotá, Colombia), Fuga Jurásica, Buenos Aires-Ciudad Abierta, Festival de Electromúsicos del Río de la Plata (Milenio, Montevideo, Uruguay), Pulso, Buenos Aires No Duerme, Festival Internacional de Video y Artes Electrónicas F.I.V.´96, to mention some. Klauss published the albums “Cielos Móviles” (recorded between 1994 and 1995), “Metales Perfectos” (recorded between 1999 and 2000, a double CD) and “e” (recorded between 2003 and 2008). It was founded by Ernesto Romeo and 
Alejandro Vazquez in 1988, who named the band after the actor Klaus Kinsky, for his work in "Nosferatu" by Werner Herzog. Other members during the first period of the band were Walter Alderete and Ángel Castro.
Currently, Klauss has finished a new album, recorded at La Siesta Del Fauno (their own Studio-Laboratory), which digs deeply in the avant-garde stamp of the band, characterized by an intense sound search based on the profuse use of synthesizers, sequencers, keyboards, drum machines, guitars and all types of sound generators and processors.
