Game: Legend of the Mystical Ninja (1991)
Composers: Kazuhiko Uehara and Harumi Ueko

This NES title has a soundtrack that is directly influenced by ancient Japanese music. With this track in particular, however, I couldn't help but notice some similarities with western music trends in 90s-early 2000s Neo-Soul.

King Ryukyu's Secret (Neo Soul Arrangment)

Killshot is an instrumental rock-style piece. It was created using a program called Mixcraft and it is completely electronic. Though no real instruments were used to create this piece, the sounds used are meant to simulate an over drive guitar sound, a grunge, heavy bass sound, a synthesized keyboard sound, and an acoustic drum set. This song is meant to paint the picture of an intense scene, possibly one were a protagonist faces off against his greatest foe or a number of foes in hand to hand combat. Another way to interpret the music might be a car scene in which a high speed chase or race takes place.
