Endless Nothing - On Death And Dying [Sharped Records]

Madrid-based label Metaphor is back. It's been two years since the release of Lars Huismann's EP, the label's bid to inaugurate the vinyl division. Now, with this seventh release, Metaphor chooses to release a first album by several artists on cassette format.

Entropy is an album that brings together four producers such as Vortm, Dan Böhler, Shhgrr and JoyB. All of them are currently based in Madrid and bring different points of view of the same scenario such as disorder, randomness and the excesses of the properties of entropy. As a concept it has a logic that resides in uncertainty, and this, taken to the musical field, can have different interpretations.

The album is divided into 8 tracks, two per artist. Each producer shows different options, from binary beats to syncopated rhythms, with a lot of energy and stressful or claustrophobic atmospheres. The sensations are varied, some tracks invite you to dance, others to project your mind to far away places and others to try to escape from a nightmare.

Premiere: JoyB - What's that? [Metaphor Records]

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere “Metamorphosis”, the new track from Melbourne based artist Brixx in collaboration with Black Dahlia. As the track name suggests, Brixx’s new EP 'Conversion Therapy' is about transformation, inspired by the gamut of emotions and subsequent journey leading up to and following the coming out process. Rather than a narrative about repression or a forced change in sexual orientation, this release celebrates queer identity and disassociating from what it means to be heteronormative. 

The EP draws on the artist's love of David Lynch, cult queer cinema classics and film composers such as Heathers’ David Newman. It’s a mental trip encompassing repressed desire, frivolity, transformation and ultimately acceptance – a late night soundtrack which drops you into a world tinged with darkness that encompasses techno, new beat, EBM and breaks.

He prepares his new EP through his own Bandcamp, entitled "Invoking Shadows", it is made up of five original tracks and a remix of Mind | Matter. You can find it available in digital stores from September 17th

The Lyon-based artist lands on Paris’ Parfé Records for Shadow Of The Past, an outstanding EP which showcases the producer’s reverence for techno, EBM, post-punk and beyond. A member of the Demain Kollektiv Agency, L’Ätlas seeks to bridge opposites, fusing melancholic layers, industrial sounds and aerial melodies. We instantly gravitated toward this release which has hints of so many genres while forging a fresh and infectious sound.
