Mit der EP “Stay” begeben sich 959er & Nomi Solo auf ein akustisches Abenteuer, inspiriert von World Music, Chill Out und Down Tempo. Das Ergebnis ist Dümpeltechno vom Feinsten! 

Der Opening-Track “Stay” wird von einem wabernden Synthie getragen, der mitreißt, ohne dick aufzutragen. Seine technoide Abstammung bemerkt man spätestens durch das Einsetzen der Kickdrum. In der Mitte des Tracks kommt Gänsehautstimmung auf, verursacht durch ein harmonisches Flöten-Thema und dem immer wiederkehrenden Vocal. Abgerundet wird das Stück mit fein eingesetzten Percussions und einem dezenten Summen.

“Am Morgen nach einer durchtanzten Nacht” ist der Auftakt zum zweiten Titel der EP. “Carong” lädt ein zu einer Reise, begleitet von einer klaren Orgel und deepem Synthie-Sound. Sie führt auf einem langen Bogen zum eigentlichen Thema, welches durch sein ausgewogenes Gitarrenspiel besticht. Der Einsatz von traditionellen Shakern und die eingängige Bassline machen den Sound rund und schaffen eine Atmosphäre, die “wieder, und immer wieder” zum Träumen verleitet.

“Listen” wählt eine schnellere Gangart, die das Stück absolut clubtauglich macht. Es schöpft Kraft aus der treibenden Bassline und dem orchestral anmutenden Synthie. Der rollende Charakter wird durch das Zusammenspiel gezielter Rhythmuselemente verstärkt. Nicht zuletzt die dynamischen Steeldrums verleihen dem Stück seinen ganz eigenen Charakter. 

“Jenny” ist das sphärische Schlusswort der EP. Durch das Wechselspiel der langgezogenen Keys und der Gitarrenriffs geraten, mit Hilfe von viel Delay, die Gedanken ins Schweifen. Wieder sind es die präzise inszenierten Percussions, die den Titel einmalig machen. Der Track kommt ohne richtige Bassline aus, das schafft Raum und durch den melancholischen Vocal wandern die Gedanken weiter und weiter.

“Project Senegal” is led by Michael Langhammer, Philipp Gaska, Marco Di Mola and Tierno Niang, all friends of Alex Kaminski, a German producer from Leipzig who supports the project by offering a free track. You can download the track “Buran” by clicking the Download Button or at Bandcamp. You can leave a donation to “Project Senegal” or switch to the download (on the bottom right “back to Kollektiv Liebe e.V.”) All proceeds will benefit the “Project Senegal”. 

In order to spread the concept of open source, the guys from “Project Senegal” travelled at its own expense to Dakar for the period from July 21st, 2017 to August 13th, 2017. In workshops they were teaching basic knowledge about the construction of solar charge controllers to the civilian population. Open the download file to get a detailed description of the initiative. 
The idea was originated in cooperation with Open Source Ecology Germany; the project is supported financially by Kollektiv Liebe e.V.

Trotzdem möchten wir es versuchen und unser Wissen mit den Menschen in Senegal teilen. Am Ende sind schon allein der internationale, interkulturelle Austausch und die Knüpfung neuer Kontakte eine Bereicherung für uns alle und eine Möglichkeit, Neues voneinander zu lernen.“
