Steve Mulder makes his Sabotage debut and kicks down the door with the aptly titled "Pow" while whipping up a proper hellstorm.His signature rhythm section starts things off, before a frantic, acidic synth line takes over. Interspersed with clever edits, vocal snippets and rumbling sub bass, the whole affair simply oozes quality.It's none other than usual suspects Gabriel D'Or & Bordoy who handle the remix, and they customize the original elements to their own, unmistakable style. Big rises, sleek synths and sounds from a bleak future all come together in another groundbreaking interpretation.

Spektre and Christian Cambas team up once again to bring their "Drums Of Navarone" to Kombination Research.The rhythm section of the original mix grinds away in style, while old school chords add some anthemic flavor. The whole affair is activated by the pulsing sub bass that never lets up, and the drums are, indeed, in effect.The Advent & Industrialyzer remix is a stomping rendition, stripping things down to the bare essentials. Things get even more monstrous with stab manipulation and custom sonic artillery from the two legends.

Manuel Años, AKA Psyk, has much to lay claim to within his relatively short career, having already played at Berghain, Tresor and Stockholm's Fabriken, as well as having himself as a focal point of Madrid's techno scene. His approach seeks to continually purify and refine his sound, and with 'Distance' - his debut release on Mote-Evolver - he melds together new forms of rhythm and expression with the kind of maximal composition and hard energy that the label has honed. The four tracks of 'Distance' pulse, pound and thump their way forward while also showcasing a distinct metabolism that develops throughout this varied release.

The A-side, beginning with 'Distance', establishes a direct, compelling energy that's carried forward by echoing synths that become underlaid with an ever-growing bass. Envelopment is the true characteristic of 'Distance' as it compresses its energy, channels it forward and establishes a strong sense of momentum perfect for any number of following tracks. 'Isolate', the A2 track, properly expresses its title with isolated, intense pulses of warped bass that eventually blend into one another to deliver a highly hypnotic, immersive feel. This sense of repetition creates a spiraling sense of progression that hooks onto the listener and draws them in.

'Rdmn”, the first track on the B-side, brings in a sense of experimentation as it uses different percussive patterns while it searches for its moment to strike. The dented funk of the main bass line ebbs and flows until it finds its groove and immerses itself in it. On the heels of this comes 'Main', the final track that is no less saturated with energy than all the rest. It's pure switched-on dance floor thunder, and surges forward with a straight-forward simplicity. As Psyk's first release on Mote-Evolver, 'Distance' establishes the momentum both for the budding Spanish producer as well as for his supercharged productions to come.

Lucy & Silent Servant - History Survivors [Mote Evolver - MOTE034]

The label boss The Advent teams up with Spiriakos and they deliver a great release for Kombination Research. The original mix of 'Point Of No Return' is a smooth techno production that builds early on with some nice beats and some subtle effects. Filterheadz deliver their remix on the flip and maintain some of the quirky vibe in the drum work.

Italian upcoming star Irregular Synth, makes his debut on Kombination Research. First up is the delightful &#8216;Massive Tank&#8217;, and it is a production that showcases Irregular Synth at his very best. Interesting and very tasty production, with some powerful drums patterns. Flavio Diaz takes control with his &#8216;Psychaholic&#8217; remix and spits out a techno monster . This is a smooth techno journey which features the deep basslines mixed up, with some vocal elements giving a great depth to the track. A very nice release here, definitely must have in your dj bags.

MdS and Gymmy J they deliver to Respekt world an exquisite techno EP. The title track &#8216;Aug&#8217; is first and it has a great feel and energy from early on. Using a dark bassline synth pattern that gives the track a very good chunk and drive. Plus there are some twisted and sinister sounds that also give it a good dirty edge. Closing this EP is &#8216;Red&#8217;, building with ripping synth patterns as well followed by smooth beats. The solid drums kick in and from then on, we have another solid techno production.A pretty nice release here for Respekt, with MdS and Gymmy J providing a great set of productions, well done.

Cubix makes his debut statement on Kombination Research with a solid techno EP. Starting this EP is &#8216;Rasp&#8217; which is a very an aggressive techno track. Heavy beat mixed up perfectly with a dark percussion on the foreground. &#8216;Kinetix&#8217; is a stilted techno track, with a dark beat and skulking bass that makes this one a techno killer. A magical EP from Cubix, which he knows the definition of techno and exposes two techno anthems on Kombination Research.
