Afterlife Recordings ends 2018 with an impressive statement from German duo Innellea.

The 80's are back in full force on Alan Dixon’s debut for Tensnake’s True Romance imprint. The London producer is on the rise with releases on Lumberjacks In Hell and Running Back this year alone. “Motel 4000” serves as a further assertion of his prodigious talent in the studio.
Title track “Motel 4000” dishes out a full body experience with a powerful italo chug, vintage chord progressions and racy trance undertones. Watch out for the piano house choruses that sound like they’ve been pulled out straight out of a classic. It’s a big one.
On the flip, Patootie Tango is a like- minded cousin. Big disco claps and jazz funk inflections command proceedings here and make for a perfect early night heater.

Exclusive Lauer ft. Jasnau 'You Know'

Always busy, you know? That's Philipp Lauer's life as an in-demand artist. Whether under his real last name 'Lauer', together with Gerd Janson as Tuff City Kids or with Fabrizio Mammarella under their Black Spuma moniker Philipp Lauer, or the 'Brontosaurus' from the Frankfurt 'Speckgürtel' (German for 'exurbs') probably has more successful projects than other labels have potential artists to release music from. However, regarding the aforementioned not as Permanent Vacation, run by Munich electronic music pioneers Tom Bioly and Benjamin Fröhlich, who supplies a shelter for Philipp's music as he released his 'Borndom LP' as well two and half EPs on the label, 'two and a half' only because the 'Borndom' album was provided with a remix EP. Any way, Lauer now returns with his third proper EP to the label and delivers four original tracks plus an instrumental of 'You Know' and an extended version of the EP's title track 'Know You'. For the inversion of the title track Lauer teams up with Jasnau for 'Know You', as he already did for several tracks that were released on Permanent Vacation or Running Back. Again the result of the collaboration is as outstanding as before, Lauer's inevitable (tuff) disco-ish sound tendency perfectly fits Jasnau's voice and complement each other. The result is a pop-esque track that could do the trick in many DJs' sets as it's a versatile dance floor filler adding a different tone and note to a (club)set.

Lauer's EP 'Know You' will be released on Permanent Vacation on December 6th, 2019.

By day, the East London producer FNP spends his time managing & promoting artists in the mainstream space. A career in music has given him the knowledge & experience of how the industry works, resulting in a more savvy approach to releasing music.

Originally from just outside Luton, FNP began his musical journey making drum and bass. While at university in Nottingham, his work started to get him attention in all the right places leading to sets supporting world renowned acts such as Enei, S.P.Y, Netsky, Newham Generals & loads more.. All this work & network of people eventually led to him being lined up for a music industry job a few years down the line. At the same time, his record label Slinkiemusic picked up some notable fans including Teki Latex, Avalon Emerson, Ross From Friends, Loxy & Resound & Palace.

Now focusing on his own projects, the London producers music has gained support from Thump Magazine, Clash, Datatransmission and Complex with many more following suit. His remixes with artists across the world have also received overwhelming support from Spotify, bringing his streams to over 300k in the past year, as well as features on their influential Techno State playlist. The London production enigma, has never been one to shy away from experimenting with different genres. previous releases have explored Disco, Synthwave, Techno and Bass music. Working out of his studio in Hackney Wick, his releases in 2019 have pushed the envelope for 303 style acid basslines. "We Are The Gods" was heavily supported by Spotify as well as a number of tastemaker blogs. The follow-ups "No Real Perspective" and “'Acid on Wick Lane', went on to support from Dummy Magazine and The Classy Issue. He finished the release cycle with “Breathe” and the whole catalogue has racked up over 100k streams on Spotify

After a short hiatus, the prolific producer returns with potentially his most innovative track to date. The title of the new single “Interlinked” references a famous scene in Bladerunner, and you can hear the East Londoner was heavily influenced by the seminal soundtrack. It’s a potent piece of Synthwave-House, with a crunchy bassline driving the momentum throughout the piece. 

“I’ve always been obsessed with the Bladerunner soundtrack, and have always wanted to bring that style to a club-friendly track. So with this one I really went for it, analogue synth layers and plenty of 80’s nostalgia.. I wanted it to have a slightly dark edge to it as well and I hope that comes across!”

UMEK’s label 1605 presents an EP from French duo Cosmic Boys, who recently featured on the imprint working in collaboration with UMEK himself, but this time they are back with two solo tracks.

Cosmic Boys previous works have been released via tracks and remixes on labels such as Popof’s FORM, Oscar Aguilera’s HE-ART and Richie Hawtin’s Minus.

Quickly rising through the ranks of the world’s techno elite, Cosmic Boys have achieved many top 10 selling tracks on Beatport, and currently their collaboration with UMEK is charted at No.2 in the techno section of the website.

The duo consists of Sebastien Bevil plus Gaby Meynadier, and they have also proven popular DJ’s with several festival bookings across Europe.

“Paranormal” opens the release with a hammering kick drum and tense pads that lay a foundation for the arpeggiating lead synth and sci-fi effects. Swelling with tension, its high-paced energy gives the track a frantic momentum that’s perfect for peak time plays.

Second of the cuts, “We Are The Futrur” is deeper and more stripped back with a building euphoria that engulfs the track. Underpinned by the relentless pounding of the tough percussion and sinister tones of the ominous vocal, this cut is a twisted blend of dark and light textures.

Italy’s AGENTS OF TIME have long been on the KOMPAKT radar. It started thanks to their exemplary releases on Correspondant and other labels such as Stem, Ellum and their own imprint Obscura which includes last year’s collaboration with Mathew Jonson (from whom their name is inspired by). Michael Mayer had chance to play with them last summer at one of their Obscura parties and their friendship was cemented. Which leads us now to their five track KOMPAKT debut, entitled MUSIC MADE PARADISE.

From our early days of releasing landmark tracks from JUSTUS KÖHNCKE, the label has never been shy of exploring the enigmatic fringes of disco in our own way. AGENTS OF TIME follow these footsteps but head into galactic territory with MUSIC MADE PARADISE. They continue their knack for bridging synth-wave with modern bass rhythms in a means which are purely designed for today’s dance floors. We’re proud to make their label debut with an
incredible selection of music from this talented trio.

French touch meets Italo chic on Drive Me Crazy. At first, My Heart is A Microchip comes across as a segue track, but opens into cascading synths and a predatory breakbeat to lead its own charge. Under Control is classy Moroder disco brought to the modern age. Aptly titled Interstate 10 is an EP highlight – the percussion lead is infectious and ready for prime time exploration.
